If you’re short on good shows to watch, start paying attention to what Prime Video is up to these days. There are some amazing offerings on right now, and my personal favorite is Late Night, starting Emma Thompson and Mindy Kaling, those queens. It’s very witty and funny, centering around a late night show and its writers room. Something really cool is happening in television—major movie stars are getting really into it. Emma Thompson here, Orlando Bloom in Carnival Row, it’s really interesting to see how streaming television has opened up so many cool projects for our faves to work on. We of course reap the benefits.

Pearls are everywhere at the moment (have you seen that Rodarte campaign, omg), and most recently, I spotted these perfect pearl earrings which I simply had to have. Also, I just noticed that they’re called the “Coco Hoop,” and since Coco is what we’re calling Colette for short, clearly these were meant to be mine. Make sure you check out more from this brand too—they have such adorable jewelry and hair accessories at really good price points. Exhibit A: I need this barrette in my life.

Just click the link, take this bag’s beauty in, and come back. I’ll wait. Are you alright? Do you feel faint? How good is this bag?? Bags with scrunched, slouchy details are having a big moment this fall, but there are some that stand out from the pack because they’re almost too gorgeous to look at. This one by The Sant is unfathomably pretty and unique—I bought it in brown and black with the intention of "returning one" but honestly, how can I chose? It comes in other colors, too, because we’re just that lucky.

I’m giving you a very solid sweater resource here, make sure to bookmark it. I buy cashmere from Marks & Spencer every year, because the quality is really impressive for this price point. Get your essentials like a classic crew, cardigan, or duster, take good care of them, and they’ll round out your autumn essentials really nicely. I just purchased these joggers, this coordinating hoodie, and this cableknit.

I love the “best pizza in New York” debate because in the end, we all win. Thrillist just published a comprehensive guide to NYC’s really outstanding pizza purveyors, and regardless of the style you love most, you’re going to find the perfect pizza destination for you. And hey, if you want to treat this piece as your personal “to-do” list for fall, you have my permission and admiration. Send all standout menu items to my DMs please and thank you.

If you’re like me, the decision between black and brown bag colorways has been a lifelong struggle. This (incredibly well-priced) bag I found at Nordstrom eliminates this dilemma, because it’s both, and it's reversible. This is a brilliant commuter bag for so many reasons: It reverses to match your current outfit, it holds all of your workday essentials and then some, and it comes with a matching wristlet for mid-day coffee runs or post-work evening plans when taking a tote along would be annoying. Seriously, this is a smart move.

By now, we beauty hoarders are very familiar with the clear plastic options for organizing the chaos that is our collection. But if you’ve been feeling like your beauty set up is taking away from the overall aesthetic of your bathroom, vanity, or every flat surface in your home because that’s how many lip glosses you own, try something a little more elevated. I love this gold vanity organizer from Anthropologie because it’s a perfect mix of form and function, and really kicks the old organizer idea up a notch. Please note the little round feet on this thing—too cute!

After having a baby, this memory foam reading pillow was amazing for round-the-clock feedings and is so comfortable and supportive I literally have to be convinced to get out of bed. It’s a far better alternative to stacking up every pillow in your vicinity and hoping they’ll support you. This pillow was specifically designed for sitting up in bed comfortably, and man does it deliver.

In addition to the pillow above, I used this laptop desk from bed when I needed to address my inbox, etc. during postpartum recovery. The height is adjustable, and it’s conveniently wider than the width of a laptop itself, so there’s plenty of room for my phone, etc. There're also really smart guards at the bottom to prevent things from sliding off if you’d like to use the desk at an incline.

I just returned from London where I purchased the cashmere cardigan now on the Marks & Spencer website for 89 GBP (less VAT refund on departure from England). I’m wondering why it is so much more on their US website…same sweater.
Congratulations, Mary!!!
FTM to an 8 month old here, I’m so excited for you!! The first few weeks are so tough, but incredible. Soak it up and go easy on yourself. I hope mama and baby are doing well. I think I speak for everyone when I say next Monday I hope your fave thing to feature from NYC is a sweet baby <3.
FYI, “Late Night” was a theatrical movie release—my husband and I saw it at our favorite movie theater in Mequon this summer. Amazon Prime only has it available for streaming after the fact. It will be soon be available on DVD via Netflix.
Congrats on the baby! How exciting! I can’t wait for all the cuteness on Instagram
xx, Merritt

I just saw this post again. I just have to say, you crack me up. I love your sassy sense of humor that comes through in your writing. Even if I don’t buy anything, it’s still fun to read!
