    Pixie Market Maxi Skirt

I have a few LBDs I reach for regularly, but I’ve been looking for an LBS, a Long Black Skirt. I absolutely adore this one from Pixie Market and am convinced it is last year’s pleated black trouser trend in skirt form because it can be styled a million different ways. Personally, I’d start by pairing it with this striped Line + Dot cardigan.

    NYC’s Best Pizza

I love the “best pizza in New York” debate because in the end, we all win. Thrillist just published a comprehensive guide to NYC’s really outstanding pizza purveyors, and regardless of the style you love most, you’re going to find the perfect pizza destination for you. And hey, if you want to treat this piece as your personal “to-do” list for fall, you have my permission and admiration. Send all standout menu items to my DMs please and thank you.

    NYC Restaurant Week

I actually love restaurant week. When you think about it, it’s the perfect way for people who love trying new things to try new things affordably. Restaurants all across the city participate (there are so many I’ve been meaning to try but haven’t gotten around to), and they often feature a special Restaurant Week pre-fixe menu that is an ideal way to taste the best of what each hotspot is known for. It’s on now through August 16th, so get out there and get eating (as if I need encouragement at 8.5 months pregnant).

    Manhattanhenge!

New York’s most instagrammed natural phenomenon (I use the word “natural” loosely, this entirely has to do with buildings, FYI) is happening this week! If you’re not familiar, Manhattanhenge is a phenomenon occurring just before and after the summer solstice, in which the sunset aligns perfectly with NYC’s east-west street grid. Read this article on where to stake out your spot this Friday or Saturday for the perfect sunset snap and keep your fingers crossed for sunny skies.

    NYC Orchid Show

Stop what you’re doing, the NYC Orchid Show is upon us and if you have never been to this—quite frankly fabulous—event, pull yourself together, squash the jealousy you have from not going to the dog show, and literally take some time to stop and smell the flowers. Do a google image search for this and tell me you’re not entirely sold. It runs through April 28th!

    Zara Same-Day Delivery in NYC

Did you know Zara will do same-day delivery in NYC?!  I basically fell off my chair when my friend Blair recently told me that Zara now offers this.  Of course, I’ve been an enormous fan/over-user of Net-A-Porter’s similar service, but having Zara at your fingertips when you realize that you have nothing decent to wear tonight and no time to run to the store is next-level life changing.  Hail to the Zara.  FYI, orders must be placed Monday – Friday by 1pm to be delivered the same day between 6pm and 10pm EST in New York City.  The service is…

    On Broadway

As many of you know, Rich and I go to Broadway shows every chance we get and just bought tickets to see The Band’s Visit next month.  The cast is amazing (including the super talented Tony Shalhoub, Katrina Lenk and John Cariani) and reviews thus far have been stellar.  Let me know if any of you have seen it already!

French Eatery In Soho: La Mercerie

La Mercerie has become one of my go-to spots for breakfast or coffee meetings in Soho since it opened its doors in December.  The unique space offers a french café and home decor store in one with a wonderful breakfast and all-day menu along with wine and delicious cocktails.  In the same space, there is a grab-and-go counter providing the dreamiest french pastries, coffee and tea.  If you’re looking for a new place to check out in Soho, I can’t recommend this bright, beautiful spot highly enough!

The Best Photography Locations In NYC

My friend Blair of Atlantic-Pacific knows a thing or two about great photography.  She’s a bonafide master at finding the most picturesque locations for all of her spectacular photo shoots and recently she shared a comprehensive guide to the best backdrops in NYC.  If you’re preparing for engagement photos, family photos, blog photos or just want to check out some of the most picturesque corners of the Big Apple, you can trust that Blair knows the best of the best.
