I’ve shared Glamsquad many times now because I’m quite honestly enamored with the fact that I can have in-home glam on demand. You can get your hair or makeup done (amazing!), but my personal favorite might have to be the in-home manicure and pedicure, which is truly something out a dream. The Glamsquad team was nice enough to provide my readers with discount codes, and since I always get asked to re-share these, I wanted to immortalize them here for you. Use MARYORTON for $25 off for first time customers, and MARYORTON15 for $15 off for repeat customers. Go forth and glam, with sweet discounts. And, if you forget to write these down, just know you can always come back to memorandum.com and enter “glamsquad” into the search bar to find them!
We’ve discussed the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale in detail, but I wanted to offer this quick reminder that not only is it still going on, but it’s also still really well stocked. I recently covered my actual purchases from this sale here, and you many of the items are still in stock like this gorgeous blouse, this ribbed sweater, these PJs (which are my all-time favorites), and this cult-favorite blanket. There’s real joy in participating in a sale even if you’ve been too busy to spend an hour glued to your laptop the second it starts. I appreciate a sale for a leisurely shopper, too, don’t you?
I actually love restaurant week. When you think about it, it’s the perfect way for people who love trying new things to try new things affordably. Restaurants all across the city participate (there are so many I’ve been meaning to try but haven’t gotten around to), and they often feature a special Restaurant Week pre-fixe menu that is an ideal way to taste the best of what each hotspot is known for. It’s on now through August 16th, so get out there and get eating (as if I need encouragement at 8.5 months pregnant).
Lately I’ve been very into Drunk Elephant skincare products, but specifically two: T.L.C. Sukari Babyfacial and Virgin Marula Antioxidant Face Oil. The two products used together are designed to kickstart dull and uneven skin into something far more perky, with a reduction in fine lines for good measure. If the summer’s left you with weird skin texture you don’t recognize, or just an overall dullness, this combination is an amazing skin refresher that’s probably the best results you can get for yourself at home without hiring a live-in facialist.
Well well well, look who comes in a NEW SIZE NOW. You’re familiar with my full-sized Maestra obsession (and I also own the mini), but I also just ordered this new midi size and it’s ideal for those workdays where the laptop can stay home. It still carries so much (including a sleeve for an ipad), but when you don’t absolutely need something laptop-friendly it can be great to downsize, especially on the days that call for tons of travel to and from meetings.
In the last 8.5 months or so, I’ve learned that there are LOTS of opinions out there on pregnancy and childbirth (shocker). As you can imagine, it can be really overwhelming to try to discern who’s right or wrong. Receiving very stern DMs over breakfast that I ABSOLUTELY CAN NOT EAT PINEAPPLE, etc., can start to wear on you after awhile. But there is one resource that I’ve found to be really trustworthy and calming, Evidence Based Birth, and I really recommend it to anyone currently planning a family. The site contains unbiased summaries of scientific research on common pregnancy and childbirth topics, so all of those panicked text messages about avoiding pineapple won’t phase you in the least.
Around this time of the season I assume we’ve all read (and probably got sunblock on) all the beach reads that were on our list at the start of summer. That’s why I was glad to stumble upon this list of great beach reads from The Everygirl. Refresh your sun lounger supplies, friends—warm weather isn’t going anywhere for a while.
As you may recall, the Laneige Lip Mask we’re all in love with was on sale for Prime Day—like, really on sale. If you didn’t pick one up then, I’m thrilled to report that it is still on major sale today. If you’re not familiar, this is a lip sleeping mask that gently melts away dead skin on the lips over night and leaves you with smooth, uber-moisturized lips come morning. But, to be honest, I don’t just restrict my use of this product to night time. I’m slathering it on all the time. My point? It would be so silly to skip this sale on such an effective product. In fact, get two—let’s not take chances.
You’ve seen me wearing my Eywasouls Malibu Cora Floral Maxi Dress on Instastories all summer, and you may have also spotted it in my roundup of non-maternity clothing to shop while pregnant. I am very pleased to report that the dress is—first of all, soooo comfy and a down-right TREAT to wear—and second, on sale right now! If you spotted it and loved it, this steep discount is exactly what you’ve been waiting for all summer. I can highly recommend this tiered flowy number whether you’re expecting or not.
