Whelp, since socks are the new shoes, it was time for me to upgrade my supplies. These socks by Stance are the comfiest, cutest, best live-in-them socks ever. My brother-in-law got all of us pairs last Christmas which is how I originally discovered them and after LIVING in them for the past several months, I recently ordered these and these, too. They come in… I don’t know, roughly a million sizes and colors and ensure that sock boredom never becomes a thing during quarantine.
Obviously you’ve heard me sing the praises of Elemis skincare for quite some time now, and today on my Instagram Stories I walked you through several of my all-time favorites. You might have noticed a couple of new additions to the squad: First, I finally made the switch to the jumbo size of Elemis’ cleansing balm because I use it so religiously that there was really no reason not to commit. Additionally, I’ve recently discovered the brand’s cleansing oil, which, in combination with the cleansing balm, is the ideal way to cleanse your skin without stripping it of its natural oils and moisture (I did an entire post on the subject here). This particular cleansing oil is made of a blend of winter rose oil, omega-9s, and chia seed, and removes dirt and makeup brilliantly, without any of the uncomfortable dryness that other cleansers can cause. Other Elemis favorites mentioned in my stories are their superfood facial oil, the pro-collagen advanced eye treatment, and the pro-collagen oxygenating night cream. You can also read more details on these top favorites and my general love affair with Elemis as a skincare wonderbrand here. If you’re looking to add to your collection or give the brand a try, remember to use discount code MARY25 which will get you 25% off elemis.com!
I’ve recently started watching this show’s newly released second season, and the dream team that is Christina Applegate and Linda Cardelini are not letting me down. I flew through the season and finished it last night, and I don’t mind telling you I feel a huge void in my life that I doubt another show can fill. But let’s try. What should I watch next?
Okay, okay, okay, don’t freak out but, maybe freak out a little. If you’ve been missing theater life since literally everything stopped happening in March, or if you’re just pretty much obsessed with Hamilton, Disney+ has some very exciting news! A filming of the actual stage production of Hamilton with the original cast is being released on July 3rd! Originally not set to be released until 2021, it would appear that Disney+ knows how much we need this. Get excited. I’m hyperventilating.
I’m baking, you’re baking, everyone’s baking! If you’re feeling like you need to add some creativity and skill to your mix, pun definitely intended, Baking Gold by pastry chef Jami Curl is genius. The book is based on the idea that you can be endlessly, culinarily creative with just three doughs, two batters, and one “magic mix.” Also this book relies heavily on the use of sprinkles and decoration, so… I’m sold?
Amazon.com is replete with endless affordable eyeliners, so it’s often a kind of trial and error process. If you’re someone who loves a dramatic line, cat-eye, or wing, this option is amazing. The color is a deep black that lets you channel your inner Twiggy. It goes on smoothly, allowing you to perfect your technique, and is double sided, with one end as an actual wing stamp, for the days when you just need a short cut (or a guide). Also, $8!!!
So… this exists, and is without question the cutest, most perfectly sized baby pool for Colette. Literally an inflatable cloud with a rainbow. Come. On. If you’re shy on outdoor space but still want your baby to have something to splash around in, it’s honestly ideal. I may or may not have Googled this in grown-up size as well…
It’s shaping up to be kind of an indoorsy summer, and while that’s not ideal, that doesn’t mean we can’t get creative and bring a bit of the outside, in. The Sill is known for making short work of shopping for the highest quality plants and planters, with a wide range of styles and sizes that let you bring the perfect amount of green into your space. If you love plants but find the whole shopping experience baffling, this site is your go-to.
I love everything Missoma does, but I just ordered their Tidal Ovate hoops in gold. I have a similar style from Zara (that’s super old and sold out) and I’m constantly asked about them. They’re showing signs of wear (sigh, Zara), so I needed to upgrade to a higher quality option, and these are perfect. They’re incredibly versatile and a great price point for a quality earring.
With the weather getting warmer, we’ll likely need to switch our sheets from warmer fabrics to something more cool and breathable. The bed linens I use now are beautiful and super-soft eyelet sheets from Boll & Branch, and this year I’m bringing in a new addition from Brooklinen in the form of these super cool stripes. There’s nothing quite like a fresh pair of gorgeous sheets that get even better with every wash.
Good news for Nars “Laguna” fans (i.e. basically everyone?): It comes in MATTE NOW. Nars recently released an expanded shade range of their original cult-favorite bronzers, but they’ve also added a new matte formulation to the mix! I have loved Laguna forever and I’m so thrilled with this matte version, because it looks much more natural if you’re using it for contouring.
I recently shared a round-up of quarantine headbands under $50 on my Instagram (we’re all on this extreme quarantine root journey together), which you can shop here. Headbands are the perfect effortless accessory for hair that’s basically going nowhere (and maybe hasn’t been washed in several days) but still wants to feel cute. I just ordered this one, and I’m sure several more aren’t far behind.
The new collaboration between Jennifer Fisher and CB2 is a must-see. It’s full of cool, elegant pieces for those who love a modern aesthetic. I’d love to add these handles to a dresser and this marble party tower will be an entertaining essential once entertaining is like… a thing again.
