    The Chutney Life Cookbook

Palak Patel’s new cookbook The Chutney Life is an inspiring collection of 100 easy-to-make Indian-inspired recipes. The book is filled with family recipes and exciting ways to incorporate Indian spices and flavors into your cooking. Every recipe I’ve ever tried from Palak has been a huge hit in our house and I personally can’t wait to try her Coconut Shrimp Po’ Boys with Panang Curry Remoulade next. YUM.

    Julia Donaldson Children’s Books

How has it taken me this long to discover Julia Donaldson Children’s Books? Parents know that when it comes to reading to your children, you want to make sure you’re actually accomplishing something productive. I find so many children’s books frustratingly plotless, pointless, and unimaginative, but not these! Donaldson infuses a valuable lesson into every sweet story, and the proof is in how much Coco (and I) loves them. Our current favorite is Room on the Broom but we’re now in the process of collecting everything this author has ever written. Get ready, Liza.

A Loving Table Book By Kimberley Whitman and Shelley Johnstone

Attention all fellow entertaining and tablescape lovers: A Loving Table came out recently and features stories from 30 women on how their mothers and grandmothers influenced and impacted their styles of entertaining. It was written by Kimberley Whitman, an entertaining expert and purveyor of all things classicly chic,  and Shelley Johnstone, one of my absolute favorite interior designers. I think we all know at this point that my entertaining style is heavily influenced by my family tree, so purchasing (and loving) this book was inevitable.  And, if you’re looking for inspiration to build your own spring or summer table, check…

Penguin Clothbound Classics: Jane Austen Collection

I love collections of classic books, but if you’re looking for a decorative set and don’t want to go old-school leatherbound (no shade, our den is full of them!), then check out Penguin Clothbound Classics like this Jane Austen Collection. One big distinction is that the design stays true to the era of the work while still being stylish enough for display in a modern home. I can’t wait to display this in the girls’ room—though they might have to loan me their copies from time to time.

    The Kissing Hand Children’s Book

If your children are experiencing separation anxiety around going to school, playdates, daycare, etc., The Kissing Hand is the absolute sweetest, most comforting children’s book. It’s been on Coco’s must-read list every night before bed for the past several weeks and now, anytime she goes somewhere without me, we make “kissing hands” to take with us. I think it’s helping us both equally, actually.

And best of all, it works.

    Family Photo Baby Board Book

Okay, wait. You’re telling me I can read my kid(s) a bedtime story where I AM THE STAR? I’ll take three. (Kidding.) Honestly, how sweet would it be to create a board book that has family members featured throughout—especially family members that we haven’t been able to see much in the past year? This would also make for such a special baby shower, new baby or children’s birthday gift. I’m not crying, you’re crying. We’re all crying. Oh no Colette’s actually crying BRB.

    Cooking For Two Cookbook

Anyone need a gift for newlyweds? This one’s perfect and also lasting. Discovering new recipes as a couple is always fun, however, it can often be a challenge to find recipes with small enough portions for people who aren’t looking to feed a family of six. This Cooking For Two Cookbook is a great resource because it contains over 650 recipes and everything is portioned for two people so that you’re not wasting lots of food. Also, you cannot beat these ratings for a cookbook—I’m sold.
