There are SO many good summer dresses at H&M right now, and I love them for those of us who enjoy floating about the house in clothes that don’t feel like clothes. Bonus: This one is $20. I repeat: $20. I’ve never ordered anything faster.
We’re going on month four (what?) of remote work, and it’s important to stay connected to those on your team and people you work with closely—despite the fact that you’ve only seen them through screens since March. I love this article from Forbes that offers great ideas for boosting morale and bringing a bit of fun to your team, remotely.
I recently bought this lightweight set for summertime ‘round the house lounging’. You know, because that’s basically all that’s allowed right now. It’s a soft waffle knit that’s super breathable and lightweight, so it’s got massive year-round comfy clothes potential. I also just ordered this jumpsuit that’s basically the equivalent of wearing a cloud. Not a scientific evaluation but it’s my own research. I love the gathered ankle and I’m fairly certain this is the most chic cargo pocket that has ever existed.
I have never seen sorcery like this before and it must be mine. Sure, it’s super fun to hack into a watermelon with no skills for this task whatsoever and cover the kitchen or back porch in stickiness that will haunt you for the next 37 years. Or, OR… we could use this genius creation to effortlessly slice sweet cubes of watermelon perfection for easy summer consumption. Just a thought. Juuuuust a thought.
Hair hydration in the summer is a real necessity, whether we’re having an actual summer with like… plans, or just maintaining hydrated strands in the backyard while we commandeer our childrens’ baby pools for our own use. Fold this hair mask into your regular rotation and end summer without hair that I’ll endearingly call “straw.” In all seriousness, these socially distant times are a great opportunity to give our hair a little TLC!
Lovers of true crime shows and podcasts need to get into this new season of Dirty John, asap. It’s an anthology series where the story changes with each season, and it currently features the Betty Broderick story, with Amanda Peet in the lead role. It is highly binge-able television and I dare you not to google the whole story while you’re watching. SO SO SO GOOD.
Cup Of Jo recently released this delectable list of food gifts to send to loved ones and friends we’re distant from these days and they ALL come from Black-owned businesses! We’re talking cakes, coffee, spirits, wine, cookies, hot sauce, SO MANY THINGS. But I cannot stress this enough: Do not read while hungry. Or I dunno… do?
For those unfamiliar, Diane Hill is a decorative artist and designer who creates luxury bespoke murals, interior designs of all kinds, and even hand-painted wallpaper! Watching her painting videos on instagram is officially my new favorite past-time. While her original works are currently sold out, you can purchase her prints here, and cooler still—her work comes in phone-case form! Be prepared for lots of complements and questions about where you got them. Honestly just swaddle me in these dreamy designs.
If you’re someone who routinely got eyelash extensions pre-COVID, you’ll want to pay close attention here: I’ve shared this eyelash serum in years past, but it’s time for a refresher course. It works so well you guys. I’ve recently had a few people on Zoom calls ask me if I’ve somehow managed to get eyelash extensions during covid or if I’m wearing false lashes—I’m not. This serum is the secret! You swipe it across your lash line every night before bed, and in a few weeks, you will start seeing much thicker, much longer eyelashes. My natural eyelashes are very short and thin, so the results I’m able to achieve are INSANE. I’m at the point now where my lashes are so long and thick, I’ve reduced application to every other night because I don’t need them to get any thicker or longer. And, while there are far cheaper versions of eyelash growth serum on Amazon and other sites, this is one of the few areas where I’d suggest you avoid bargain-hunting. This stuff is going near your eyes, so I feel it’s worth paying extra for something from a reputable brand that’s been ophthalmologist and dermatologist tested.
If you have been heavily relying on your sweat sets during quarantine, but clearly need something more summer-friendly these days, look no further. How cute are these sets?! Amazon offers shorts and short-sleeved sweatshirt set options at amazing price points. I have my eye on one perfect short-sleeved sweatshirt in particular, and of course its matching shorts.
This brand, available (and on sale!) via Nordstrom, is new to me, but I’m really glad I found it. Rhone creates essentials and basics for men that are comfortable and functional, but also have a sense of “I really got dressed today” to them. Rich is completely obsessed, just FYI.
