Literati
Literati is a book subscription service that’s tailored to the age of your kids and delivers quality books straight to your door. Rich and I are proud investors (and paying customers!) of this company and have long appreciated that the children’s books we receive always include diverse faces and people of color. Check out their most recent Instagram post for an excellent reading list for children of all ages to add to every parent’s anti-racism efforts in raising their kids. One of my personal favorites is the book Colette and I are reading in the image at the top of this page, The Day You Begin by Jacqueline Woodson. I can’t tell you how deeply this book’s message of inclusivity and celebrating diversity resonated with me. Heck, even if you don’t have children, read this book.
Madame de la Maison
Attention, my fellow china fanatics! I’m really looking forward to getting back to entertaining again (once it’s safe), and I’m also looking forward to adding pieces from Madame de la Maison to my china collection. Owner Ajiri Aki collects and sells (she rents too, you guys!) antique tableware and linens in the most gorgeous and delicate styles and patterns. Her pieces make outstanding one-of-a-kind gifts as well. She is a must-follow on Instagram!
Ice Cream, Delivered
Food & Wine recently released a list of ice cream vendors currently selling their frozen tastiness via Goldbelly and through some creameries’ own sites, for nationwide delivery to your door. So let me get this straight, I can have artisanal ice cream, delivered to me, without having to go anywhere that’s further than the kitchen drawer for a spoon? Sold. Sur La Table’s Sale Section
If you haven’t perused the sale section at Sur La Table in awhile, you might want to go ahead and cross that off the list. There are some steep discounts on cookware and kitchen essentials that let you replace and upgrade anything around the house that’s not performing at peak level. All your favorite brands are marked down, like Staub, Le Creuset, All-Clad, etc., so take a look!
Giant Goop Sunscreen
You know you’re going to need sunscreen all summer, so why not buy a supersized version of it now and be prepared through Labor Day? Goop sunscreens are long-beloved for their effectiveness and the fact that their formula feels comfortable to wear. I also really love how the pump and upright bottle on this jumbo sized bottle makes this so easy to use outdoors, by the pool, etc.

Snail mail has so much more importance during socially distant days, but you want to make sure that when you’re sending touchless mail, you’re still able to make it personal. Moonpig allows you to completely customize your cards, and they send them for you. So it’s a great way to send something personal that really comes in handy right now. You didn’t think I was skipping summer dress shopping, did you? A good indicator of what I’ll call a “Mary Dress” is when I stand up and clap furiously at my laptop as if it’s just given me an Oscar-worthy performance. This dress from Mara Hoffman’s new offerings is a strapless, drop-waist, belt-detailed Mary Dress of the highest order. Adding this to my collection for this summer and every other.
Anklets!
You know I approach trends with caution, but I actually really do appreciate the fact that anklets are back. While I’ll likely keep my anklet trend participation to something delicate and minimal to wear on a patio or poolside, I love accessorizing swimwear. There’s something very effortlessly luxurious about it and you know what… it’s fun. Check out the most inspiring assortment here.
Wrap Life
In addition to our ongoing fight to hide “quarantine roots,” we’ve now got summer humidity to contend with. Joy. I was very happy to come across Wrap Life recently, a purveyor of incredible head wraps and headbands that you should absolutely stalk on Instagram so that you can always be first to know when your faves are restocked. There are so many styles and colors to choose from, as well as really cool tutorials to make sure you get the most variety out of your wraps.

If you’ve been searching for anti-racism reading resources, you might have noticed a lot of books appearing on popular reading lists are out of stock. If so, check out The Lit Bar, an independent bookstore that ships nationwide and still has stock of amazing anti-racism resources and they’ve curated their own collections!
Vintage-Inspired Midi Dress
Speaking of Mary Dresses, this casual dress is one of the cutest frocks I’ve come across this summer. It’s got a vintage, slightly prairie vibe that’s modernized by the color palette. I love the sweet details via an exaggerated point collar, belt waist, and slightly puffy shoulders. Do I have somewhere to wear it? Nope. Do I care? Also nope. I may or may not be shopping for next summer’s wardrobe, and I’m entirely okay with that.
