Best NYC Rooftops For Summer 2021

While I might not make it back to NYC this summer due to… you know, a brand new actual infant… that doesn’t mean I can’t help you make the most of the season. This is a really good list to use when you’re brushing up on the best NYC rooftops, especially this year when (sadly) not all rooftops from previous summers are still operating.

    Fridge Organization Tips

What is it about an organized refrigerator that’s so soothing? I’m not saying we’re all destined to have refrigerators that mimic a game of Tetris, but if you can incorporate a few of these top tips into your typical kitchen routine, opening the fridge is certain to be less stress-inducing for sure.

    Chef’s Feed Youtube

None of us like to admit it, but sometimes Netflix gets boring. It’s completely fine if you need to level up your entertainment, and even better when you can make it educational, too. I’m not sure if you’re aware, but Chef’s Feed actually has a whole YouTube channel full of free cooking tutorials, and they’re led by professional chefs. If you’re a food blog follower but feel like some of the specifics of instruction are often missing, check this out.

I recently found this list of deskercise stretching options (just go with it) and in addition to being a great way to break up the day and give yourself a reminder that life exists off of a screen, they’re actually really beneficial for your body.

    Best Artificial Plants

Generally, I’m not an artificial plant kind of gal. I want the real deal, no matter how many I inevitably kill. However, there are a few corners of our new house that really just don’t get enough light for plants to thrive, but that doesn’t mean I don’t want something green there anyway. This article on the Best Artificial Plants is positive proof that there have been major upgrades to the faux plant game, and it’s time for me to take another look!

    Nightstand Hack

Um, excuse me? The subject of this story wanted a nightstand that was $3400 and because she didn’t want to pay that much, she HACKED ONE for $115. I mean yes that’s plenty of motivation but who among us can weave our own shelf for a nightstand?? This is one of the better furniture revamps I have ever seen. I’m officially inspired.

    Martin Luther King Day

There are so many inspiring quotes from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. being shared today, the date that rightly honors his life and work. But, as a prolific writer, speaker and preacher, Dr. King left us much more than quick sound bites. He left an incredible body of work that is worthy of our time and reflection, especially today, especially this year.  I had the pleasure of studying many of these texts in college, but am re-reading several this week. This article is a great place to start, curated by Dr. Carolyn Calloway-Thomas, chair of African American and African Diaspora…
