    P.S We Made This Book

Erica Domesek, of @psimadethis fame, has written a new book full of DIY projects for children called P.S. We Made This which is packed with creative projects and recipes that will not keep your kids entertained, but will also encourage essential sensory and motor skills. The book is a great gift idea for a parent or child looking to boost cognitive development and self-confidence! I can attest, the projects are practical (often using items you have laying around the house like cardboard boxes) and so much FUN.

    Garden Building Toy

When Coco received this Flower Garden Building Toy from my in-laws for her birthday, I didn’t really understand it or know what to expect. Like the vast majority of gifts I got her for the big day, I feared it would be relegated to the bottom of a toy bin. PLOT TWIST: it is Coco’s favorite thing in the ENTIRE WORLD (hopefully after her parents and sister). The mix-and-match washable flower parts are meant to help with hand-eye coordination and creative development. Happy International Women’s Day!

Fun fact, it’s actually Women’s History Month all month long, too! If you’re looking for a meaningful way to spend the day (or month), I love the idea of donating to women’s organizations you love. We’ll be donating to Dress For Success, one of our favorites. Another cool option: checking out these digital exhibits curated by the National Women’s History Museum which explore various groups of trailblazing women.

    Chef’s Feed Youtube

None of us like to admit it, but sometimes Netflix gets boring. It’s completely fine if you need to level up your entertainment, and even better when you can make it educational, too. I’m not sure if you’re aware, but Chef’s Feed actually has a whole YouTube channel full of free cooking tutorials, and they’re led by professional chefs. If you’re a food blog follower but feel like some of the specifics of instruction are often missing, check this out.

Government For Grownups: Sharon McMahon On Instagram

As we all know, the past week has been another devastating one here in the United States. We saw senseless violence, the desecration of a sacred American institution, an assault on democracy, abject bigotry, anti-semitism, loss of life, and so much more. One spectacular resource in understanding everything going on is @sharonsaysso on instagram. Sharon McMahon is a talented and hugely knowledgable former Government studies teacher who has recently gone viral due to her excellent ability to provide non-partisan, easily-digestible and highly-engaging information about our democracy in her instagram stories. She is excellent at simplifying the complex when it comes…
