I recently polled all of you via Instastories on an extremely important topic: The very best Indian restaurants in London. No small task, and you did not disappoint. After doing so, I received many requests to share the top recommendations for reference on your own upcoming trips to Britain’s capital, so here they are! The most popular responses were: Gymkhana, Dishoom, Brigadiers, Veeraswammy, Chutney Mary, Cinnamon Club, Tayyabs. We ate at Gymkhana on Thursday night and as mentioned on instagram, I think I will dream about that meal until the day I die. I’m completely obsessed with Indian cuisine so can say with confidence that this restaurant was truly spectacular.
This sandals brand is new to me, and after purchasing this gorgeous pearly pair of flat sandals, I’m a HUGE fan. Not only are they great quality with gorgeous, truly unique styles, but all of the straps are lined on the underside with the softest, most buttery suede ever, making them super comfortable. Why is every sandals brand not doing this?? I know we’re all nervous about breaking in our new summer sandals, and therefore breaking our feet in general, but this brand might just be ahead of the curve in that department.
If you’re unaware, Rent The Runway has an unlimited subscription option for $159 per month that lets you essentially always have up to four amazing RTR pieces for work or play with you at all times that you can switch out at your leisure. Why have I not always done this?! Unclear, but currently it’s been really amazing during pregnancy, since my size is changing every couple of weeks. The red dress and earrings I’m wearing in my most recent instagram post are both from Rent The Runway and they’re currently running a great $80-off promotion right now. There’s more, use code RTRMARY to receive $100 off the first two months of Unlimited, so hop-to!
EXCELLENT news from a truly outstanding style emporium: Selfridges is now offering complimentary next-day delivery in NYC if you purchase a year membership to their Selfridges Plus program. No matter where you are in the world, Selfridges Plus membership perks includes a year of free delivery and complimentary returns for $55. Think of this as a less expensive Amazon Prime membership, but for one of the best department stores in the world that has EVERYTHING—we’re talking high street favorites like Topshop, designer show-stoppers like Oscar de la Renta and Alexander McQeen, and everything in-between. The real excitement might be for New Yorkers who get the killer bonus perk of having not just free delivery as part of the Selfridges Plus program, but free next-day delivery available in our area. I’m a FREQUENT user of both Net-A-Porter and Zara’s same-day delivery options in NYC, so I’m thrilled to now have a trifecta of killer options at my fingers tips when time-sensitive fashion emergencies arise.
Behold! An anorak jacket that doesn’t make me feel like I’m on staff at Jurassic Park. Cuyana’s Pleat-Back Anorak is a genuinely beautiful solution for anyone who loves stylish outerwear but hates like…the weather. It comes in two essential but slightly less expected colors (I’m opting for olive but also might go back and order the navy given how much I’ve been wearing the olive lately), and there is far more attention paid to detail and style here than with typical anoraks that just want to focus on keeping you dry. If you want to stay dry and cute, this is your coat. Also, I’m very confused as to how it’s literally the most lightweight thing on the planet but also keeps me nice and warm? Black magic.
Nobody’s a huge fan of putting stuff on their body without knowing the ingredients, especially if those ingredients are potentially harmful. You probably already know that traditional deodorants are a major offender in this department primarily because they contain aluminum which some studies have linked to breast cancer, Alzheimer’s, and other issues for pregnant women. During my pregnancy (but also always) it’s been especially important for me to steer clear of questionable ingredients, so I’ve been using Megababe Natural Deodorant. This formula is aluminum, paraben, and alcohol free, relying on ingredients like coconut, green tea, vitamin E, and sage to do the hard work. I’ve tried several natural deodorants, and this is hands-down my favorite (it really works). And, I’m not just saying that because I’m a huge fan of Megababe founder, my friend and fellow Wisconsin-native, Katie Sturino.
I’m obviously on the hunt for maternity brands to fall in love with during this nine month extravaganza, so naturally I had to test out fan-favorite HATCH. I just bought this dress, and this one, too, and I find them to be cute, super comfy (the material is the SOFTEST EVERY), and so versatile. I’ve been wearing them non-stop during our current travels to London and Nice so am now eyeing a few additional styles to add to my collection hereand here.
We’re getting dangerously close to the end of the Frida Kahlo exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum! This incredible collection of the brilliant Mexican artist’s work and possessions is must-see, and while advance tickets are sold out through the rest of the exhibition, same-day tickets are still available—but sell out quickly! This exhibit is not to be missed and ends May 12.
