Impressing Your Boss While Working Remotely

If you’re looking for ways to improve your productivity and get the most out of your WFH experience, my thoughts are all gathered for you here in my work-from-home guide on Memorandum. But I also recently found this article on “managing up” and the ideas are both practical and helpful. I especially like the idea of sending your boss a weekly email update with a list of the key things you accomplished over the course of the week, along with everything that’s on your list for the week to come. Our bosses can no longer see us working in a…

    Happy Instagram Accounts To Follow

I recently asked on instastories for you to share with me the Instagram accounts that are helping you through these stressful and uncertain times by brightening your feeds with joy, laughs, and general upliftyness. (It’s a word if I say it’s a word.) There were SO many amazing suggestions (I’m still trying to get through all of them) so thought I’d share them piecemeal—a few at a time each week in the Monday Memo!  If you want to enliven your feed, below are my favorite suggestions, starting with my personal favorite @geoffreywalk which is the most heart-melting, delightful British couple,…

    Eberjey Vera Set

Eberjey is a gold standard when it comes to pajamas and loungewear. The softness and quality truly outshine so many other options out there, I always find myself returning to these pieces over and over again, even when I’m wearing like… actual clothing more often. This set comes in two soft neutral tones, so if you’d like to camouflage yourself into the couch so that you can’t be found by your isolation buddies, this is an option available to you.

    Rope Necklace

Chains of the thicker variety are trending for spring (or at least they will be once we’re let out of the house), and this is the one I’ve been wearing a lot lately on IG. It’s currently 40% off and a great way to road test this trend if you’re unsure of ways to wear it. Spoiler though: there are many.

    Cerebelly Baby Food

Brain food for babies? Absolutely. Cerebelly is baby food designed by a neurosurgeon mom who also decided to get a PhD in Developmental Neurobiology (in her spare time). She was disappointed in the nutrient levels of typical baby food so she created a line of baby food that’s organic and full of the nutrients that growing and developing brains and bodies really need. It comes delivered to your door, which I thoroughly appreciate these days, and Colette’s discerning palate seems to be happy as can be with the nutrient-rich flavors.

    Lano Hand Cream

Obviously we’re all washing our hands nonstop, and are therefore experiencing what I’ll gently call… some dryness. We need a rich cream that can keep hands soft and free from any cracks or itchies. This is one of my favorites, and I highly recommend you keep it with you during isolation.

Great Pottery Throw Down on Youtube

Friends, please let me introduce you to the Great British Bake Off… of pottery. The Great Pottery Throw Down is a show you can watch for free on YouTube, and is a similar competition-style show, but you know… with clay. If you need an easy, heart-warming watch and perhaps inspiration to start a new hobby, this should be next on your list.

    Fishbowl

Fishbowl is a parlor game that’s one of my family’s all-time favorites. It’s basically a guessing game that combines charades, taboo and password where two teams play against each other, and there’s a helpful YouTube video that will quickly explain the rest of the rules. I love this game because you don’t have to actually purchase anything to play it, and it’s great for families and groups of friends isolating together. It can also be played via facetime or zoom if your loved ones are quarantined elsewhere.

    Random Questions While Distancing Filter

I made a thing. It’s fun. Please feel free to go on Instagram and use it while passing the time (solo or with loved ones). The Random Questions While Distancing Filter is an Instagram stories filter I created so that you and your friends can… wait for it… answer random questions while social distancing. Go check it out in my IG highlights and make sure to tag me when you play because I, too, need to be entertained.

    Rainbow Sweater

Whelp, it looks like we’ll be spending our spring in loungewear at home, and I, for one, could use an upgrade or two. I recently ordered this vibrant, cozy cardigan sweater to help boost my mood and break up some of the monotony. I’m happy to report that the colors are even more amazing in person. Toss this over your basic tops and leggings and you’ll be the most colorful one in the Zoom room, I promise.
