    Headband-Scarf-Mask

Look, I don’t love the name. But, I do love the functionality of a good scarf, especially right now. I recently shared an Instagram tutorial video on how to tie an oversized scarf or sarong into a headband/mask that is convenient, cute, and, well… mandatory when leaving the house.  Check out CDC guidelines here on face cloth coverings for non-medical persons, and then start digging out your favorite scarves. Aside from a really aesthetically pleasing way to wear a mask (and an adorable headband), I’ve honestly found this method to be the most comfortable, secure way to wear a mask.…

    LoveShackFancy x Superga Sneakers

Can you even handle this cuteness? I cannot. I am unable to handle it. This is not handled. If you’re looking for your summer sneaker, there is no better option than this collaboration of floral dreams right here. Does it make anyone else long for the Laura Ashley days of their youth? How many pairs of floral shoes are too many? Asking for myself.

    Necessaire

Necessaire’s philosophy is focused on treating the skin on your body with the same level of care that you take with your face, and honestly that just makes good sense. I’ve already used two tubes of their fragrance-free body lotion, and have just replenished my supply with their new bergamot scent, which is heavenly. Use code MEMORANDUM10 for 10% off your next purchase!

Children’s Books to Support Conversations on Race, Racism and Resistance

As a parent, I know that conversations about race must start in the home. One important way to make sure you’re raising children in an anti-racist environment is to be intentional about what they’re exposed to everyday. The toys they play with, the books they read, the shows they watch, the music they hear. To start, I’ve been researching children’s books, and have found the Coretta Scott King award winner list as well as this list to be a helpful starting point. I’m also following @theconsciouskid on instagram who has an excellent book list as well available on their patreon…

    Anti-Racism Resources

The majority of today’s Monday Memo was written far in advance, but it was important to start with this today. This Anti-Racism resource guide was very thoughtfully compiled and and has been shared widely, but I want to give it a permanent home on my site and ask that everyone bookmark it. If, like me, you are looking for resources to educate yourself on anti-racism and how you can raise your own awareness and action around anti-racism, I strongly encourage you to give it a thorough read. It contains helpful articles, books, podcasts, films, resources for parents, and much more.…

    Memorial Day Sales

Today is actually Memorial Day, and therefore is the last day for many major sales happening right now. And there are a TON. Personally, I’m spending lots of my day shopping the Williams Sonoma and Anthropologie sales (because I’m transitioning my quarantine uniform from sweats to flowy nightgowns day dresses like this one). Also, Wayfair is offering 70% off outdoor decor and furniture in anticipation of summer. Am I crazy for thinking we need a daybed with a canopy? I mean I hope not because I can thoroughly see myself enjoying this one, or perhaps this. Wait, wait what about…

    Ellevest

Finances are top of mind at the moment, and if you’re looking to educate yourself on financial best practices, especially investing, Ellevest should be your go-to. The team’s mission is to close the investment gap between men and women, and there’s no better or easier way to get started on your financial plans for the future. If you’re new to Ellevest, a great place to start is by watching a recent chat between my college friend Cameron Rogers, and CEO Sallie Krawcheck.

    Milkbar Sampler

I know we’re all missing people we love. Sometimes, it can be helpful to send them something in the mail that lets them know you are thinking about them and wish you could all be together. The sweetest thing I can think of to send (literally) is The Sampler from Milkbar. It includes the famed bakery’s most beloved treats, in adorable packaging, and is a guaranteed good gift for anyone you know who appreciates the fine art that is quality deserts. This should be your absolute go-to for upcoming summer birthdays, fyi!

    Corkcicle Wine Tumblers

Outdoor beverages of all kinds are about to become a daily routine, so make sure you’re prepared with a drinking vessel that makes sure your ice cubes last longer than a Toyota commercial. Personally, I love Corkcicle wine tumblers for everything from cocktails to iced coffee, because they work so well, they’re the perfect size, and they come in so many adorable different options. They even have a version that’s designed for champagne if that’s your beverage of choice! If you’re looking for a more affordable version, you can also check out these very highly rated options from Target!

    Masterclass

Did you know that MasterClass (the content subscription that gives you access to literal masters in their field teaching you how to do what they do) is only $180 for the year? That’s a ridiculous deal when you think about the amount of access and education involved. I actually gifted MasterClass to my brother for Christmas, and he’s loved it. From cooking classes by Gordon Ramsey to lessons in filmmaking by Martin Scorsese himself, the course selection is incredible. Quarantine is the perfect time to explore new interests (or even just fascinations) and there’s no higher quality content out there.…
