Why it’s the best leather booties

Available in black leather and cognac suede, this boot is essentially a closet worth of boots in one shoe. Made of the most buttery Italian leather, with an almond toe (yes please) and rubber tread underneath (thank you), this thoughtful boot was designed to be the one you never walk out your front door without. And, because the style is so classic and essential, you can. Sarah Flint achieved her goal in the most beautiful way and the best leather booties deserve to be celebrated. It’s a feat for feet. I made a funny.

Height matters when we’re talking about shoes, and it most likely is very firmly connected to the purpose for which you’re wearing the bootie. A long day of work, meetings, and dinner with friends ahead of you? Opt for the 30mm heel height. Going out on Friday night? Maybe the higher 70mm is the way to go. That’s part of what makes Sarah Flint so brilliant, she’s thought of the real life scenarios that make us not only choose our shoes, but rely on them, too. There’s more…

Extra padding and arch support are cognizant of the fact that… you know, feet go in here, for long periods of time. Not only did the shoe require absolutely no “breaking in” on the first wear, I legitimately didn’t want to take them off when I got home because they’re just so unbelievably comfortable. I mean, are we sure they booties? Because they feel like slippers.

    More things to love

And, just in case unbelievable arch support isn’t enough, you can take comfort (literally) in knowing the best leather booties were created with a wider toe box. This means that your toes aren’t fighting for space throughout the day. Everybody’s got plenty of room to like… function and have blood supply. Wild.

Nothing condemns a boot to the donate bin like a bad zipper, so rest assured that these zips are galvanized to ensure longevity and a smooth, unimposing zip situation, forever. I also just have to say that I find the exposed gold zippers to be very aesthetically pleasing—the kind of extra stylistic detail that elevates the shoe beyond the standard-issue staple bootie everyone has in their wardrobe. This pair stands out—but not so much that you can’t wear them with absolutely everything.

I know we all want to feel completely confident in our footwear investments, and it’s a priority of mine to contribute to your confidence. This is an un-regrettable boot. Essential, thoughtfully made, and aesthetically versatile. Every. Single. Box. Checked. Off.

    Perfect.

    I Love Leopard Print

Personally, I love any print that’s a timeless classic, but leopard has a special spot (lol leopard jokes) in my heart. I take great comfort in knowing that year after year, I will always be able to pull out my leopard favorites and know that they are as wearable today as they’ve always been. It’s much easier to invest in quality pieces with that knowledge. That being said—I always peruse the new leopard offerings each season, because everything I already own obviously loves making new friends. And that’s the thing about leopard—it somehow goes with everything.

    The Look

In this look, I’m not interested in subtle notes of leopard (though I love those, too). This is a leopard dress, everybody. Made by Ganni, a brand rapidly becoming a household name in the world of well-priced and extremely charming clothing, this dress has a stunner of a neckline and bodice I wanted to belt widely the moment I saw it. The belting gives way for the fullness of the skirt to really shine, and two weeks postpartum, I wasn’t mad about a little skirt fullness to hide what remains of my baby bump.

The sandals (because yes, technically, it is still sandal weather, leave me alone) are By Far, and I don’t mean to play favorites, but these were probably my favorite, most-worn pair of the summer. They’re quite unique in that I wore them with gowns to black-tie events as well as jeans to a Thursday night girls dinner. They’re that rare and elusive multi-tasker, and are somehow very reasonably priced for the quality.

If you’re seeing the bag and asking yourself why it feels familiar, that’s because I recently discussed it in the Monday Memo. It’s made by The Sant and it’s so cool and unique all the other bags in my closet are asking it for advice. I went for the black version but am having serious FOMO over the ivory, cognac brown and hunter green.  All four options are so beautiful, it makes me a little mad that they even make you choose.

But back to the leopard print…

Here’s another thing: It’s also a neutral. Not necessarily in the case of an outfit like the one I’m wearing here, where it’s the star of the show, but in more subtle appearances like accessories or even a blouse-under-blazer moment. Leopard has evolved and elevated itself into essential neutral territory. Once you start implementing it everywhere, you’ll notice how much balance and subtle interest it can give an outfit, with something even as simple as a belt. Funny to think that animal print could ever have subtlety, but leopard is just genius like that.
