Summer Essential Dress

In this recent post of mine rounding up recent favorites from Ann Taylor, the most-clicked-on dress aside from the dress I was wearing was this one. Color me not at all surprised. It’s such a great price point, a gorgeous hue and super wearable—plus it comes in petite, regular and tall sizing. And, if you’re going to buy the dress, how do you say no to these objectively perfect sandals shown with it? You just don’t. The combination of that muted olive green with cognac brown is drool-worthy.

J Crew Basketweave Sandals

You know I don’t take sartorial commands lightly, but stop what you’re doing and buy these sandals in both colors. I had sandals nearly identical to the brown version a few years ago, and I wore them until they literally fell apart. Everlane Skirt

I bought a white skirt like this several years ago, and every time I wear it I get inundated with questions. This is the first time I’ve seen something like it, and I love all three colors it comes in (though how fun is the white one for summer?). This is such a fantastic closet staple if you’re looking to add pieces that round out you summer wardrobe and make dressing for essentially anything really easy. It’s Everlane, so obviously the price is spectacular.

I am dying to go to this tour at The Met, run by Shady Ladies tours (love it) and showcasing infamous style and beauty trends throughout history. The walking tour promises some of the most fascinating, bizarre and painful things people have done throughout history to look good—think 300 hundred years of torturous corsets or the grand hairdos of Imperial Rome.
