    Binge Watch: Billions

If you haven’t seen Billions on Showtime yet, call in sick and don’t go back to the office until you’ve watched every available episode.  The third season started last night and I can’t get enough.  For me, Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis are two actors whose films I will see with no questions asked.  I don’t need to watch a trailer, I don’t need to hear a plot.  If one of these two actors are in it, just tell me the time and place and I am THERE.  Needless to say, having both of them TOGETHER is completely dizzying.  Stop…

    Escape The Room

I’m a little late to the party here, but we did Escape the Room for the first time with family in town visiting for Easter last weekend and IT. WAS. SO. FUN.  At this point, every major city has several “escape rooms” and they come in all shapes and sizes, but we did the Victorian Home in Midtown.  The basic premise is that you and a group of people are locked in a room and have a limited amount of time to unearth clues and decode puzzles that will eventually lead you to the key which will allow you to……

My Fair Lady At Lincoln Center

Reviving one of the most iconic, well-known shows of all time is no easy task, but after seeing My Fair Lady at Lincoln Center last weekend, I’m thrilled to report that Bartlett Sher (Tony Award-winning director) has done it again.  The cast is absolutely stellar, and somehow Lauren Ambrose (who plays Eliza) and Harry Hadden-Paton (who plays Prof. Henry Higgins) makes you quickly forget you’ve seen it a million times.  (Audrey who?  Rex who?)  Norbert Leo Butz (two-time Tony Award winner and you might recognize him from Bloodline and others) is absolutely genius as Alfred P. Doolittle and Dame Diana Rigg (Tony…

Charleston / New Orleans Bachelorette Planning

I returned late last night from an amazing bachelorette weekend in Charleston and as the Maid of Honor, I was tasked with the planning/coordination of weekend festivities.  A couple weeks ago I serendipitously connected with Randi of Kay & Co. Weekends and can’t recommend them highly enough if you have an upcoming bachelorette party in Charleston or New Orleans.  Kay & Co is a boutique travel planning company that crafts thoughtful, creative getaways for bachelorette parties, bachelor parties, weddings & the occasional girls’ weekend, too.  While I already had the weekend planned out before I found them, I did use…

    Chef’s Table: Pastry

The Netflix series Chef’s Table is easily one of my all-time favorites.  If you haven’t watched the series, you’re in for a binge-worthy delight.  The series takes you inside the minds of the world’s best chefs and culinary stars who are revolutionizing the way we eat.  The fourth season just came out and much to my sugar-addicted delight, the entire season is dedicated specifically to pastry chefs.  THE BEST.

    Binge-Watch: The Staircase

People used to chat about a hot new TV show around the office watercooler.  Now we just DM each other.  If you’re looking for something new to Netflix, please join Rich and me in our obsession with The Staircase.  Anyone who’s into a good real-life mystery like Making A Murderer or Evil Genius will be instantly hooked.  The series originally aired in 2004, and a new season was just released showing how the case, and those affected by it, have changed over time.  Utterly fascinating.
