Massage Gun
First of all, I honestly can’t remember the last time I saw a full five-star rating for ANYTHING, but to add to the magnitude of this product’s success, there are over two thousand reviews that feel this way. The Massage Gun is exactly what it sounds like. It’s a quiet, adjustable, lightweight, and rechargeable percussion massage tool that relieves muscle tension. It comes with different attachments for different parts of the body, and honestly if you’ve ever felt soreness post-workout (or literally any other time) your life is about to change. Between all the unfortunate sitting we do at our desks and high intensity workouts, this gadget is my new favorite thing. I really wish I had purchased it while I was pregnant for all those pregnancy aches.
Hot Rollers Tutorial
I recently walked you through my hair routine for voluminous, retro-classic Hollywood curls. To give you a more in-person look at what I do to make everyone think my hair is really fancy, I recently shared my step-by-step, 5-minute (seriously), hot roller instructions. H&M Home
Confession: I could spend an entire weekend scrolling through affordable, adorable, functional H&M home products. Perhaps… I already have? Honestly the fact that I’ve narrowed down my recommendations into one very expensive-looking marble vase is astounding, but I realized that recommending the entire site wasn’t really going to be helpful for you. This vase looks far more expensive than its price tag suggests and is such a smart addition to an entryway or dining table set up.
Visual Timer
Hey, setting timers are cool, but have you ever tried actually knowing how much time is left on them?? As much as I love screaming “Alexa, how much time is left?” at a robot in my kitchen 14 times a day, I think this visual timer is a much more elegant solution. It shows you exactly how much time remains via a red visual dial, so that you can figure out exactly how long you have until you can enjoy whichever Home Chef meal is currently in your oven, and whether or not you have time to sneak in some Netflix before it’s done. I’ve heard people swear that it’s also amazing for using with children as the visual aspect helps them understand how much playtime, activity time, dinner time, etc. is left.
Beauty Dupes
While I have certain products I absolutely won’t part with (Elemis, lookin’ at you), I also really love when research has netted out certain beauty dupes (or more affordable versions of cult favorite products) that are worth taking for a test drive. This post in NY Mag has done the research for us, sharing some pretty astounding beauty swaps I am highly interested in trying. There’s a Chanel blush dupe in here guys, let’s investigate.
Waxelene
My deepest thanks to Hilaria Baldwin for opening my eyes to this product. Waxelene is a highly-rated petroleum-free botanical jelly that is a lotion, ointment, and cream all in one. It’s hypoallergenic and made with all organic ingredients, and it has become my go-to for everything from diaper rash to minor cuts and scrapes to super-dry wintery hands. I basically don’t leave home with out it now.
American Royals
This book is getting lots of literary attention everywhere, but if you haven’t read it, American Royals is a fantastic YA novel by my friend Katharine McGee. The book imagines a world in which George Washington becomes monarch after the Revolutionary War instead of President. Fast forward to present day and the book follows the young royals of the “House of Washington” in a Downton Abbey meets Crazy Rich Asians meets The Crown DELIGHT. A sequel is in the works already and Netflix needs to pick it up stat because I simply must binge watch this.
