30 Dresses In 30 Days
30 Dresses In 30 Days! Are you ready? Am I? Really not sure, to be honest. Nevertheless, it all starts this Friday, November 1st, and I’m going to go for it even if it means some of the dresses are covered in baby throw up and/or some days I just post a picture of my bathrobe and call it a “dress.” For all Memorandum rookies, 30 Dresses In 30 Days is (apart from being fairly self explanatory) a major event around here. From November 1-30, I’ll be sharing a dress a day, and the occasion (and accessories) to go with it. Clear your closets, your fall/winter style guide is imminent!
Dermalogica Rapid Reveal Peel
Ready for a new skincare product? Of course you are. We always are. Skincare is like toys for adults. This ten-vial peel is for anyone looking for some major glow factor. Tretorn Leopard Sneakers
Call fall and winter whatever you like. This year and hereafter, I’m officially dubbing it fuzzy footwear season and that’s that. I’ve already shared these magnificent slippers that I recently purchased, but the newest additions to my collection are these Tretorn Leopard sneakers. Aside from the adorable leopard exterior, they come in at less than $100 and will swaddle your feet with slip on faux fur softness for the duration of unfortunate temperatures. If you wear them to the airport, be prepared to get stopped mercilessly throughout the terminal to tell literally every woman who walks by where you got them. I’m speaking from experience here.
Men’s Barefoot Dreams Sweater
You know, I try to do nice things for Rich, and he just doesn’t seem to appreciate that I have his best sartorial interests at heart. No problem, more for me, especially in the case of this GLORIOUS SWEATER. As I mentioned on my Instagram Stories, I purchased this immensely comfy Barefoot Dreams sweater from Nordstrom for my husband, and he like… didn’t care. Before returning it, I thought, what the heck, let me take this sucker for a test drive since its cloud-like softness seemed to be calling my name. Long story short, I tried it on and discovered that it is, in fact, the coziest, most perfect oversized sweater on the planet. So now it’s mine, it’s incredible, and I feel very comfortable recommending this for literally anyone in your household. It’s oddly flattering for women as an oversized sweater so I’m actually quite curious as to why they’re hiding it over in the men’s section, but okay…
Norma Kamali Trench
File under: absolute steals. This favorite Norma Kamali trench coat that I bought many months ago on Shopbop for $385, is now on Zappos for the bargain price of $162.56. What?! It’s a double-breasted trench coat with a wrap-style front tie closure and a raw edge. The fabric is an amazingly comfortable thick stretch knit with the most beautiful drape. It’s been my go-to for everything from morning coffee runs with sneakers and a baseball cap (as seen here) to evenings out with a cocktail dress (as seen here). In other words, it’s VERSATILE AF. I have the khaki version but you’re going to want to check it out in olive, too. (You may recall that I’m quite enamored with olive this season.)
Statement Belt
If you read this blog, you know a good belt when you see one. And, as we approach the holiday season, you’re going to need to see a good belt or two—in your closet. Start with this one, the Margaux Waist Belt by B-Low the Belt. It’s made of pebbled leather with a beautifully stunning gold statement closure. So smart to keep around for dressing those LBDs very UP.
The Marvelous Mrs Maisel
If you haven’t already watched Seasons 1 and 2 The Marvelous Mrs Maisel, cease all other television viewing immediately. The new season starts December 6th! (Please hold my calls, thank you.) As you may have seen on my rather enthusiastic Instagram story, in celebration of the forthcoming season right now there are Mrs. Maisel windows up at Bergdorf‘s in NYC. They’re a must-see if you’re a fan of the show. Or Bergdorfs. Or windows. Honestly, I think I’d watch this show just for the costumes even if it wasn’t one of the most well-written, perfectly-cast masterpieces of the century.
Athleta Uptempo Top
Let me be clear: Athleisure is very important to me both as a new mom but also as a human person. This top from Athleta in particular is one that you treasure. It’s incredibly comfortable and has a perfect tunic fit, complete with those little wrist holes that we don’t know why we actually need but love nonetheless. Especially as temperatures start dropping, it’s also good to have some go-to workout wear with sleeves. You’ll be glad you have it, trust me.
7 A.M. Enfant
Before you ask, I’m already looking into getting this in adult size. Recently in my Instagram stories, I asked all of the moms watching to HELP A NEWBIE OUT. I’m in the market for cold weather baby gear, and needed veteran mamas to help me cut through the noise. Thus far, the number one recommendation was this bunting by 7 A.M. Enfant that is lined with faux fur. I was also delighted to discover the wild world of stroller muffs. You better believe I bought these.
Embellished Sweater
Magic Trick: Wear a sweater with embellishments, look like you tried hard. I am very into embellishments this season because they add way more to an outfit in terms of appearance-of-effort, without actually requiring… you know, effort. Sartorial shortcuts don’t get much cuter, or more affordable, than this sweater right here which comes in four colors, each with slightly different embellishments. I’ll be moving back and forth between this and Rich’s discarded knitwear all winter long. P.S. While you’re there, take a look through H&M’s new arrivals. SO. MANY. GOOD. THINGS.
Veggie Dicer
At this point anything that saves me time in any area of my life is a welcome addition, but it’s even more special if that time saver contributes to feeding me. This is an instantaneous veggie dicer. Yep. Stick in an onion, push a lever down, and voilà! Diced onions. I know some people take joy in chopping, and perhaps I’ll get back to that place when Colette is 18, but for now, just give me diced veggies and give them to me immediately.
IKEA Smart Blinds
Remote. Controlled. Blackout. Roller. Blinds. Are we The Jetsons? Is that what’s happening? The FYRTUR (I have no idea, it’s Swedish) blackout curtains are battery operated, wireless, and incredibly affordable considering they turn your home into a spaceship from the future. If you want privacy or just like… sleep… and also maybe don’t want to get up and deal with your blinds, these are a must.
