It’s Amazon Prime Day! And while a day dedicated to deals on a website that sells virtually everything certainly gets my attention (and like, all of my money), it’s also really, really overwhelming to try and attack this extravaganza without a plan. This week’s Monday Memo is your blueprint for getting straight to the good stuff. Below, my absolute favorite Prime Day purchases, curated for anyone overwhelmed by all the Amazon awesome.
But first, a few details if you’re new to this magnificent sale: Amazon Prime Day deals are exclusive to Prime subscribers and last up to 36 hours. If somehow, inexplicably, you are not already an Amazon Prime member (for shame!), you can sign up for a free trial today to take advantage of the deals. The discounts (as detailed below) are well worth it. Today is your day to stock up on everything from electronics, to home goods, beauty, fashion and so much more.

If last year’s fall coats are worn out, or just annoyingly stored away someplace that’s hard to reach, this Calvin Klein option is a real beauty. Absolutely classic and effortlessly functional for fall, I know you probably won’t want to rely on one coat all season, I’m just saying that theoretically, with this coat, you could. And, don't just take my word for it: I've received countless messages from readers after purchasing this beauty saying that it's a true closet hero. Keep the DMs coming!

I really suggest paying attention to this amazing deal on DL1961 jeans. This is one of my all-time favorite brands, they’re your no-brainer go-tos that actually look thoughtful—and that’s a win. A good skinny jean is an absolutely vital piece of your fall wardrobe, but Prime Day happens to occur in summer. Adjust your carts accordingly. These Hudson skinnies are also on sale, because Prime Day hadn’t yet presented us with enough tough choices.

A lesson in smart buys for guys (pardon my rhyme, I need to improve Mondays in any way possible), these $15 t-shirts are an absolute must for Prime Day. Rich owns a few, and I’ve even been known to buy one (or 25) for myself. Too many t-shirts isn’t a thing. They’re worn constantly, and as such, they have a tendency to need refreshing every now and then. Pre-empt that horrifying moment when you look in a drawer and realize all of the t-shirts in your home would be better off used as dish rags, and scoop up a few fresh tees.

This genius pairing is a steal on the next must-have in virtual home conveniences, and it’s a lot less than what you’d typically pay for them individually. Together, the Ring and Echo Dot team up to make you feel like your home was designed by the Jetsons. Ring will notify Echo Dot, who will then notify you, whenever you have a Seamless delivery I mean visitor. No word yet on when we get the robot that actually answers the door and brings your pad thai to the couch, but I’m hopeful. By the way, if you just want the Echo Dot, it’s available on its own right here along with ALL AMAZON DEVICES which are on sale today.

Maybe you left yours on an airplane. Maybe the dog took liberties with your electronics during 4th of July fireworks. Maybe you just haven’t made the switch to the effortlessness of having literally every book you could ever want to read in the palm of your hand. Whatever the situation, the Kindle Paperwhite and the All-New Kindle is on sale, and it would be such a shame to miss this chance. Hint: If you buy a couple now, you’re already way ahead on Christmas shopping. Just a thought.

Another spectacular product ready to turn your home into a place you kind of never have to leave—the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K which essentially opens up the entire streaming world to you just by plugging into your television. And while I do see certain dangers in my own ability to simply say “Alexa, play Downton Abbey,” I’m still really, really happy to have the option. By the way, this little guy is fifty percent off.

In this day and age I think we can all agree that noise cancelling headphones are mandatory—especially if you're working from home, adjacent to family members and babies who are not always perfectly silent. These Sony noise cancelling headphones are actually ranked higher than Bose, and currently over 20% off. Enjoy them now at home and kick back with the smug knowledge that future children on airplanes and arguing subway tourists will never bother you again.

Love reading books but find that the actual act of sitting down and reading can be a bit of a time suck? Enter Audible, literally my favorite thing on planet earth. It’s any audiobook you could ever want in one place, and for Prime Day, you’ve got the chance to get three months of Audible for the price of one. Even to just try it out you’ve got to admit this is an incredible deal. Listen while getting ready in the morning, commuting, doing meal prep, folding laundry, making someone else fold laundry, you get the picture.
