Prime Day is a LOT but it’s fantastic. I’ve got a focused plan, and a full cart.

It’s Amazon Prime Day! And while a day dedicated to deals on a website that sells virtually everything certainly gets my attention (and like, all of my money), it’s also really, really overwhelming to try and attack this extravaganza without a plan. This week’s Monday Memo is your blueprint for getting straight to the good stuff. Below, my absolute favorite Prime Day purchases, curated for anyone overwhelmed by all the Amazon awesome. But first, a few details if you’re new to this magnificent sale: Amazon Prime Day deals are exclusive to Prime subscribers and last up to 36 hours. Quilted Jacket
If last year’s fall coats are worn out, or just annoyingly stored away someplace that’s hard to reach, this Calvin Klein option is a real beauty. Absolutely classic and effortlessly functional for fall, I know you probably won’t want to rely on one coat all season, I’m just saying that theoretically, with this coat, you could. DL1961 Denim
I really suggest paying attention to this amazing deal on DL1961 jeans. This is one of my all-time favorite brands, they’re your no-brainer go-tos that actually look thoughtful—and that’s a win. A good skinny jean is an absolutely vital piece of your fall wardrobe, but Prime Day happens to occur in summer. Adjust your carts accordingly. These Hudson skinnies are also on sale, because Prime Day hadn’t yet presented us with enough tough choices.
Crewneck Pocket T-Shirts
A lesson in smart buys for guys (pardon my rhyme, I need to improve Mondays in any way possible), these $15 t-shirts are an absolute must for Prime Day. Rich owns a few, and I’ve even been known to buy one (or 25) for myself. Too many t-shirts isn’t a thing. They’re worn constantly, and as such, they have a tendency to need refreshing every now and then. Pre-empt that horrifying moment when you look in a drawer and realize all of the t-shirts in your home would be better off used as dish rags, and scoop up a few fresh tees.
Ring + Echo Dot
This genius pairing is a steal on the next must-have in virtual home conveniences, and it’s a lot less than what you’d typically pay for them individually. Together, the Ring and Echo Dot team up to make you feel like your home was designed by the Jetsons. Ring will notify Echo Dot, who will then notify you, whenever you have a Seamless delivery I mean visitor. No word yet on when we get the robot that actually answers the door and brings your pad thai to the couch, but I’m hopeful. Maybe you left yours on an airplane. Maybe the dog took liberties with your electronics during 4th of July fireworks. Maybe you just haven’t made the switch to the effortlessness of having literally every book you could ever want to read in the palm of your hand. Whatever the situation, the Kindle Paperwhite and the All-New Kindle is on sale, and it would be such a shame to miss this chance. Hint: If you buy a couple now, you’re already way ahead on Christmas shopping. Just a thought.
