Also known as Christmas for beauty addicts, the Sephora Spring Insider sale ends TONIGHT. Discounts depend on the level of “Insider” status you’ve earned in your Sephora account: if you’re a first tier “Insider” you get 10% off everything with code HEYINSIDER; “VIB” members get 15% off with code HEYVIB; and “Rouge” members get 20% off with code HEYROUGE. Whatever your markdown, we can all agree that beauty with a discount is far better than beauty without. I’m stocking up on my favorite eyebrow pencil, this eyebrow gel I’ve been wanting to try, my favorite face tanning wipes, my favorite primer and, well, much more than I’d like to admit (you can see all of my beauty favorites here). If you’re the type to add to cart and wait for the right moment to commit, it’s here.
Your inbox is no doubt flooded with Mother’s Day Sale emails, but let me do you a favor and cut to the chase: This is the one you should shop. Stuart Weitzman is offering 25% off your order plus free overnight shipping with code SWMOM so that you can get the shoes you want—I mean the shoes your mom wants—fast, and at a steal. I just got these gorgeous sandals in gold and these beautiful flats in cream.
Our lives are essentially covered in tech, and as a result we’re each exposed to the radiation emitting from our cell phones, laptops, and other devices. There are health risks associated with that exposure, which is especially high on an airplane. While pregnant, my doctor recommended I cover my midsection with this Belly Armor blanket when in-flight which is 99.9% effective at shielding my mini Celine from radiation.
It’s not about perfection: Last week, I dove into my favorite tips for time management which are worth a read if you’re someone who feels like your schedule runs you rather than the other way around. But, I’d also like to emphasize that everyone’s day looks different, and it’s not about being perfect. These strategies are about making the smart choices that work well for you. Personally, I’ve been using the tips outlined in this post (which include time blocking, tricks for eliminating distractions and much more) for years and I don’t think I’ve ever had a day where I was able to execute my time-blocked schedule perfectly without interruption. Perfection is not the point. The goal is to institute strategies and build habits so that you eliminate 90% of distractions, and greatly enhance your efficiency and productivity for the majority of your day. Just because there’s an issue with your toddler that disrupts your morning for 30 minutes doesn’t mean you can’t still employ the principles for the other 7.5+ hours of your workday with great success. As discussed in the post, the reality is that while yes, there are true emergencies that require your immediate attention during your workday, the majority of things that come up and distract you from efficiently checking off your to-do’s are not actually time sensitive, so force them to wait. It does take time and practice but man is it worth it.
Hi, my name is Mary and I find big wallets super annoying. There, I’ve said it. If you too hate carrying an actual brick around in your bag and/or find that brick impossible to fit into some of your favorite small handbags, let me introduce you to the magic of compact cardholders. I find that slim, chic cardholders are the way togo, like this YSL option I’ve used for years that I recently shared in my Instagram Stories. They make switching between any-sized bag so simple (even a clutch!), and the days of cleaning out huge wallets stuffed with receipts (probably from Sephora, because see above) are long gone.
So…fun story. I recently went on an Etsy headband shopping spree (it’s a thing), and if you’d like a good activity that will eat up your entire afternoon—I mean day—dive into the wonderful world of Etsy headbands. For example, I got…this one…and this one… and this one. And this one. And this is the last one I promise. For now.
I get a lot of questions about my nail color any time my hands happen to be visible in an Instagram Story so I figured I’d post the colors that are most often in rotation here so you can easily find it. My all-time-favorites are OPI Lisbon Wants Moor on my hands, and OPI Got the Blues for Red on my toes. (FYI, if the salon only has CND options, the equivalent colors are “Romantique” and “Rouge Rite,” respectively.) I typically get both done in OPI GelColor so that it lasts a few weeks, but you can get the same shades in their regular polish versions as well. *Books manicure appointment.*
If you’re an AirPods or bluetooth headphones person, you may have experienced some difficulty around things that still require headphone jacks—i.e. gym TVs, airplane in-flight entertainment, etc. This transmitter works actual magic and lets you connect your wireless headphones to anything with a headphone jack! You just plug the device into the headphone jack, connect your earbuds and you’re good to go. I want this in my travel bag literally at all times.
I am dying to go to this tour at The Met, run by Shady Ladies tours (love it) and showcasing infamous style and beauty trends throughout history. The walking tour promises some of the most fascinating, bizarre and painful things people have done throughout history to look good—think 300 hundred years of torturous corsets or the grand hairdos of Imperial Rome. In addition to being visually breathtaking, this exhibit promises to be quite the education, too. Sign me up.
