Monday Memo No. 169
Spring sandals, scarf rings and my seasonal obsession with wicker (which is at an all-time high).

It’s not every day that I pair the words “cute” and “trash can” but today is one such day. Recommended by @PencilAndPaperCo, this wicker step trash can is EXTREMELY CUTE. It comes in four natural shades and has a removable inner bucket that’s easy to empty and clean. Just because it’s where you put trash, doesn’t mean it has to look like trash.

I love celebrating Easter with little ones, but they usually end up dying more of their fingers (and my furniture) than the actual eggs. I discovered this Easter egg decorator kit last year and now I’m convinced it is the ONLY way to decorate eggs with little kids. There are no unwieldy bowls of dye, no smells, no messy clean up. Honestly, using this kit is a blast — I’ve never had so much fun with my kids.

After wedding, the scarf ring is the most important ring in my jewelry drawer. It’s a super easy accessory that makes wearing scarves easy and fully adjustable. A few of my recent favorites include this simple X-shaped one, this one with twisted rope detail, and this beauty (the exact one I have) from the gold-standard of scarves (and scarf rings), Hermès.

My Dana Rebecca edit and 10% discount code MARY10 expires in ONE WEEK! In case you missed it, I put together an edit of my favorite pieces to share as a special discounted collection to my readers and this is the result! I love Dana Rebecca’s jewelry because every piece is incredibly wearable while still feeling extra special. My discount code MARY10 expires 3/28 so that’s only ONE MORE WEEK to get 10% off beauties like these earrings, this necklace, and this stunning ring.

There’s no shame in outsourcing your kids’ Easter baskets, especially when they are as adorable as this Bunny Box from Ellifox. Just answer a few questions about your child’s age, gender and interests and Ellifox curates a box of toys, books, stickers and more from their collection. The curation is shipped straight do your door, ready to be dumped into their Easter box. This is quite possibly God’s greatest gifts to (overwhelmed,) busy parents.

Wool, straw, bucket — Janessa Leone is the creator of my absolute favorite hats, bar none. The quality is unmatched and the size options (especially for those of us with large heads) is the best out there. I just ordered this wide-brimmed beauty, but the entire Spring collection is the dreamiest.

Have hat, will travel. Hat Attack makes genius beach-inspired tote bags with a special built in spot for your favorite sun hat. It’s packable and has plenty of room for sunscreen and beach reads, the only challenge is deciding between the straw style and striped canvas style. Thankfully when a bag is this good, there is no wrong answer.

With a third on the way, I’ve gotten to know my way around crib mattresses and this one from Newton is our absolute favorite. Both of my girls used these crib mattresses which are the absolute best because they are fully BREATHABLE – meaning, if the baby rolls over, they can still breathe through the mattress. It’s also fully washable – not just the mattress cover, but the actual mattress core can be thrown in the bathtub and thoroughly cleaned. Because of our love for the crib mattresses, I just ordered Newton’s twin mattress for transitioning the girls to big girl beds which will be happening in the next few months. Right now, you can get $50 off any mattress with the code Mary50. Also, if you’re pregnant, snag their pregnancy pillow here and use code MARYORTON for 15% off. It’s the best one out there.

I LOVE this embroidered cropped shirt and matching shorts set from Rag & Bone if you have any warm weather getaways on the horizon or just want to get a jump on summer shopping before the best finds sell out. The boxy fit is borrowed from the boys, but the floral cotton voile pattern is delicate and feminine. Time to book a trip..

These leather slides (also available HERE) from Beek are the ideal slides for those days that fall between Birkenstocks and dress sandals. How COMFY do they look? They boast molded arches and memory foam footbeds. Even the upper strap is leather-wrapped memory foam, so there’s no way these will disappoint. These slides are going to be your go-to sandal come Summer, so choose your color wisely.

Fashion journalist and author Marylou Luther compiled this beautifully illustrated coffee table book of witty and inspiring quotes on style from celebrated fashion designers like Coco Chanel and Tom Ford. This book celebrates each designer with charming illustrations — it won’t just look good on your coffee table, you’ll actually want to read it.

This tiered, embroidered midi dress from Madewell is as adorable as it is wearable. I love the apron-style square neckline, the delicate embroidery and don’t miss the back details! The lightweight cotton makes this dress the perfect warm weather dress and it’s bump-friendly. No wonder it’s a best-seller.

Start planning your Spring dinner parties now so you can show off some of these absolutely breathtaking Nordic textiles from Projekti Tyyny. The Finnish-inspired home textiles are so colorful and whimsical, they’re almost too beautiful to eat off of.

I’m really leaning into wicker and weaves this Spring and these low-heeled crocheted sandals from Staud are straight out of my footwear dreams. The cream, crochet detailing and chunky brown stacked heel are a match made in heaven, perfect sandal for showing off your Spring pedicure.

I love J. McLaughlin for their classic styles and signature prints and their Spring drop is the dreamiest. There are SO many gorgeous styles, but a few of my favorites include this double breasted dress, this gingham top, this pink poplin dress, and to keep with my wicker theme, this raffia statement belt.

This textured sweater jacket from Ann Taylor is an eminently wearable Spring transitional topper. Buttoned or unbuttoned, it’s cozy yet elevated with gorgeous double-breasted structure. I’m ordering the white, but the blue and navy are also Coastal Grandmother-approved.

If you’re looking for a cheeky take on Easter “eggs'' these gummy fried egg candies will have everyone smiling. They come in bags by the pound and are sure to go over easy (har har) with the whole family.

I’m smitten with this off-the-shoulder, periwinkle ruched maxi dress from & Other Stories. The comfortable jersey-stretch material, the drop-waist midi skirt — it’s the perfect silhouette (whether you have a watermelon in your abdomen or not) in a fresh Spring shade.

In preparation of April showers, I have my eye on chic-yet-practical raincoats. This style from Stutterheim is lightweight with a classic A-line shape and tailored seams. It’s comfortable, packable and comes in eleven (!!) unique colors, including peach and a dreamy pale artichoke green. For a slightly longer style, check out this version by Rains. It has adjustable cuffs, a fishtail hem, and comes in THIRTEEN colors because when it rains, it should pour colorway options.

This denim shirt dress from COS is crafted from a blend of organic and recycled cotton with a zipper and pointed collar that gives it a modern twist. Wear it with a tank underneath, unzipped to the breastbone, unzipped just a bit with a neck scarf or zip it straight up to the collar. There’s no wrong way to wear a classic like this dress. The similar denim dress I bought five years ago remains one of the most-worn items in my closet.

I’m easing into bare skin season with this color shield spray that works as a light airbrush for your skin while providing sun protection. This isn’t another self-tanner product, it offers a mist of even pigment for a very natural, matte finish and is infused with tons of skin benefits. If your legs haven’t seen the sun in months, this spray is a Spring must-have.

J. Crew has taken their best-selling cashmere and crafted it into the ideal t-shirt for spring. This relaxed tee comes in the dreamiest array of spring colors and has the perfect cropped, roomy fit and rolled collar. The pale seascape hue was added to my cart immediately.

Pareo wraps are incredibly versatile and this 100% silk striped pareo from Kule is a begging to be worn all summer. It can be styled as a swimsuit coverup, top, skirt, headwrap or scarf and comes in two striped color combinations: navy/cream and cream/black. Kule also makes a gorgeous matching top that has me wanting to book a trip to Greece stat.
