I’d like to take this moment to commend the good people in the shipping department of Nordstrom Rack for their care in fulfilling my oversized order. I absolutely devastated the Nordstrom Rack website this week — no olive or caramel-colored item was safe. Among many finds, my haul included this Alex Mill sweater, these pink New Balance sneakers, and no less than three colors of these faux leather trousers. And don’t even get me started on this pearl earring and necklace duo. Check out my whole Nordstrom Rack haul here In this LTK post.
I’m no Kardashian, but since the day I learned how to contour my brow bone, I’ve applied that trick to my daily eye makeup every day since. I shared my tips in a makeup tutorialand because this technique is so easy and effective, my beloved Armani color balm immediately sold out. But, fear not. I scoured Sephora for some solid dupes that will allow you to achieve the same eye-opening effect with this, this and this. Trust me, it’s way more about the technique than the specific product.
September means sweater weather and sweater weather means knitwear maintenance. There are few things in life I find more satisfying than shaving sweaters because pills are every knit’s public enemy number one (moths are a close second). Even if you already own a pill-remover, this powerful Magictec Fabric Shaver is worth the upgrade because it is cord-free, fast-charging and sharp enough to keep all your knitwear looking fresh and fuzz-free for seasons to come.
Socks are IN for fall. Okay, socks are never OUT, but visible socks are especially in. Maybe it’s because they make me feel like a British schoolgirl, but I love pairing socks with penny loafers and this pack of three Perfect Crew Socks is aptly named. I bought them in white — they also come in black — and they are, in fact, perfect. Now if you’ll excuse me, I’ve got to get changed for cricket practice.
When I finally ran out of my favorite Lancer Caviar Lime Peel, I tried the much-beloved Tata Harper Exfoliating Mask and I don’t mean to start a war, but I’m still #TeamLancer. The Lancer option is slightly more expensive (ahem, caviar), but since there’s more product in the jar, it’s technically a lower price-per-ounce. Both products revive dull skin, but overall, I find Lancer is far more effective at clearing away dead skin, erasing dark spots, and leaving my skin radiant and plump. I do it at least once a week and especially on the morning of any special occasion. It’s a very rare breed of exfoliating mask that makes you feel like you have a new face, without any of the redness or irritation left by most chemical peels. Worth every penny!
Ochre is a yellow-y, brownish-red clay color and fall is its time to shine. Even if the sun isn’t. I just got these ochre MCM sunglasses and I have to say: the flared, rectangular shape is universally flattering. They’re a little more amber than yellow IRL as you can see in this recent post. If they’ve sold out by the time you’re reading this, or if ochre isn’t for you, they also come in brown, black and blue.
You don’t realize how handy a tiny measuring tape can be until you have one! These portable measuring tapes from The Container Store are fun, practical, and will make you feel like you’re a contestant on Project Runway or the host of a new home design show. They’re available in assorted colors and measure up to 60” for all your sewing, shopping, or renovation needs.
The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse is a must-buy for readers young and old. British author and artist Charlie Mackesy’s inspirational bestseller explores life lessons with elegant illustrations. The heartwarming book of friendship would make a thoughtful gift for anyone in need of a little extra hope for brighter days ahead. Plus, as an early Christmas gift to us all, Idris Elba is voicing the fox in an animated adaptation for BBC, set to release around the holidays.
I love fine china and delicate tableware, but with that love comes mountains of dishes that require hand-washing which I love… less. However, the Laundress united with Aromatherapy Associates to combine their best-performing dish formulas with award-winning natural essential oil blends and it transformed dishwashing for me. Instead of facing a full sink as a chore, I’ll roll up my sleeves, fire up an audiobook and this do-it-all dishwashing formula releases soothing vapors as it works on contact to remove grease, baked-on food, and cooking messes.
Morgenstern’s Finest Ice Cream is an ice cream parlor focused on serving texture-driven, small-batch ice creams with a renewed attention to flavor and palate. Let’s just say, I’ve conducted a lot of “research” over the past many years living in NYC and can confidently say that Morgenstern’s is quite possibly the best ice cream on the planet (off-planet research still pending). In addition to ice cream, Morgenstern’s has branched out into jams and pies and ice cream cakes like this cutie. This cake has Bubble Gum Ice Cream swirled with strawberry jelly on a vanilla sponge with marshmallows, whipped cream, rainbow sprinkles, and gumballs. It ships nationwide so you can send it to someone special or even just send one to yourself to celebrate… Monday.
Whether it’s this sarong-sized Celeste scarf from Agua by Agua Bendita or this geometric white and navy geometric beaut from Totême, silk scarves are having a moment and… I’ve been waiting literal decades for it. Style them in your hair, around your neck or belted at the waist — there are so many different ways to wear scarves (without looking like you live at Grey Gardens). I also went down an eBay rabbit hole in search of Hermes scarf rings and my hunt did not disappoint.
I’m not clear whether MaisonFrancis Kurkdjian’s scented bubbles are for adults or kids, but scents from the storied fragrance house never disappoint. The playful soap bubbles reflect light and diffuse scents like pear, cool mint, violet and cut grass. These sophisticated bubbles would add a great olfactory element to a birthday, dinner party or — imagine the dreamy photos with me — a wedding! Because why should bubbles just be for kids to enjoy?
By now, I’m well-known for my affinity for baseball caps and if you think my obsession stops when the weather cools down, think again. This plaid ball cap from Janessa Leone is a breakout star in my collection of fall hats and if you don’t have a collection of fall hats, it’s not too late for you. Put houndstooth and your favorite winter plaid in a blender and you’ll get an idea of the adorable mismatched deadstock fabrics that make this patterned hat so drool-worthy.
I’ve never attended a Tupperware party, but I’m not sure I want to since these Stasher Silicone Reusable Storage Bags have been giving Tupperware a run for their money since they hit shelves in 2016. More recently, Stasher upgraded its eco-friendly storage products with flat bottom bowl styles. They’re made from the same food-grade platinum silicone as Stasher Bags but come in five sizes that make storing, heating up, or serving leftovers a breeze.
Whenever I’m craving something salty and crunchy, I reach for these healthy Fonio Chips from Yolélé. Fonio is a sustainably grown, climate-resilient, gluten-free grain from West Africa that’s also vegan, and kosher. Yolélé has produced little chips with big flavors like sea salt and tangy baobab fruit. If they’re not stocked at your local grocery, you can order multi-flavor variety packs here. DELISH.
This self-inking stamp is a fun addition to your office whether you keep a bullet journal or just plain enjoy making lists. The stamp’s options include a rotating selection of designs from days of the week to months to my favorite—list headers like “TO DO LIST,” “SHOPPING LIST,” and “DON’T FORGET.”
Everything I’ve tried from U Beauty has been a home run and this Plasma Lip Compound is no exception. With a potent mix of peptides, Hyaluronic acid, ceramides, Salicylic Acid, and Shea butter, this lip conditioner enhances hydration without feeling heavy or tacky like some lip masks. Lip plumping without the weird tingling? Chef’s kiss!
A love of big earrings can also mean the unfortunate stretching of your earring holes. Lobe Wonder patches are flexible and translucent to prevent further damage to your ear lobes while keeping your earrings in place. Apply theclear patch to the back of the ear lobe to relieve the pressure of heavy earrings and inhibit further tearing because we can only take “beauty is pain” so far.
These seamless V-neck camisoles from Free People are officially a closet must-have. They are made from a stretchy, breathable nylon/elastane blend, come in several versatile shades, and even have a built-in-bra shelf for support. I’ll be layering them under all my cardigans this fall and the extra deep v means there won’t be any unfortunate peak-through of the camisole at the neckline.
