Yes, yes there was a LITTLE BIT GOING ON LAST WEEK so you might have forgotten to shop the Sephora sale. But good news: you still have today! Sephora Rouge members take 20% off, VIB’s take 15% off, and Insiders take 10% off their entire orders with code HOLIDAYFUN. If you’re stressed about what to buy, just stock up on the skincare and makeup you use every day—always a smart move! I’m ordering another tube of this favorite skin tint, this lip liner, and this lash curler that I’ve heard amazing things about.
Everlane is an ideal destination for classic, highly wearable essentials, and now that they make sweats they might as well be the only store in existence. This incredibly cozy sweatsset is made all the more delightful by the fact that it comes in “Cider,” a color that couldn’t be more ideal for November lounging! (This is my post-Thanksgiving dinner look, all set.)
This coffee warmer will look familiar because I’ve sung its praises in the past, but the value of this mug as a home essential and AMAZING gift takes on a whole new meaning now that I have an actual toddler. This is the best gift to give to any parent in your life who is forever leaving coffee in random places to get cold while they tend to their offspring who couldn’t care less about Mommy’s coffee temperature. A few things to know: You can get the 10oz option in black or white for less than $100 here, but if you prefer something a little more stylish and chic, for $30 more you can get it in bronze, gold, or silver here. If, however, 10oz doesn’t cut it (and for me it doesn’t), there’s also a 14oz version available here. And if you are gifting this mug and would like to add a personal touch, you can also buy it here and add a monogram!
Now let’s talk about making liquids cold. For those who prefer iced coffee but also need it IMMEDIATELY, this is insanely useful. The HyperChiller takes any beverage (wine, tea, juice, anything) and chills it in ONE MINUTE FLAT. The mechanism only uses regular water to chill your drinks, no weird chemicals or anything, and the entire thing is dishwasher safe. Anything that ensures there’s minimal time between me and my iced coffee is an essential appliance. Buy one for yourself and then add this to your list of great gift ideas, too.
What if this is the year we get really, really into legwarmers? I think we can do it. I believe in us. I’m loving this pair, as well as these, and with options this cute quite frankly if you have cold legs at any point this winter, that is your fault.
Look, I don’t want us to be here, but this where we are. If you’ve finally found a WFH office chair that’s fully supportive of your back and legs, but makes your arms feel like they’re resting upon stone, you don’t need to find a new chair, you just need armrest covers designed to make ALL OF YOU feel comfortable while working. Easy fix, no? (And if you’re not currently perched atop this magnificent seat cushion, you might as well fix everything in one Amazon cart.)
DID YOU HEAR WHAT I JUST SAID? It is a sweater that’s a jumpsuit. A jumpsuit that’s a sweater. A miracle of knitwear and monument to the comfort we demand this year that comes in three absolutely perfect colors. I ordered the dusky green. Why are we even still talking.
Sometimes it’s all about new seasonal discoveries, and sometimes it’s about the basics that just make you smile (and your tastebuds leap) year after year. I’m quite certain you’ve all already added this to cart, but just in case, consider this your annual reminder to stock up on the world’s best peppermint bark. Were you also aware that it comes in Advent Calendar format? Because I was not and now it’s my new favorite holiday/hostess gift. Although, if you actually have the self-restraint to open only one door a day for 25 days, I commend thee.
If you prefer your outerwear to mimic your bed linens, might I suggest this duvet-like coat by Proenza Schouler? Available in a gorgeous cider color (now I’m thirsty), this extremely floofy (let’s pretend that’s a word) coat is belted, to ensure that it still has shape despite being the coziest coat that ever attempted to coat.
Speaking of cozy, skirts aren’t something we often put into this category, but this plaid midi skirt and this one certainly belong there. They’re ideal for (safe!) holiday gatherings for anyone who’s a “skirt person” and feels a little left out when it’s… you know, freezing outside. Also, I can tell you from experience that they’re a classic seasonal staple you’ll enjoy seeing in your closet year after year. I have a nearly identical version of this beauty from 2013 that I would really love to pair with an oversized sweater right now if not for the growing canteloupe-sized baby in my abdomen.
I think this sleeveless turtleneck sweater dress in the prettiest camel hue is going to have to be my Thanksgiving dress. Because this year, I am thankful for cashmere. Also, this similar option caught my eye at a slightly lower price point. Should I costume change halfway through dinner and see if anyone notices?
File under 100% genius. Who among us hasn’t had our hairline RUINED by shower caps that just don’t get the job done? Honestly, this Hairbrella is the only thing I’d trust to keep my blowout intact in the shower, it really is. It can be worn in the shower or outside in the wild, and makes for a pretty great gift, too.
While our cross-country move meant that I didn’t exactly get my act together for fall decor this year, I did order a set of these adorable velvet pumpkins for my Thanksgiving tablescape. They come in a set of three and there are enough color and style options to suit every taste imaginable. Also, a small part of me would like to jump into a pile of them.
I haven’t been overly impressed with the current Christmas stocking options available, but I decided to order these for our first holiday season in the new house. They are classic needlepoint stockings with a velvet cuff that can be personalized with names or monograms. I even ordered one for the new baby so we have a matching stocking to add next year when he or she is here.
We’ve all been doing a lot more at-home manicures this year, and I’ve been waiting for some rich fall colors to arrive. OPI’s latest options do not disappoint, and whether you prefer gel or regular polish, you’re covered because they make every shade in both formulas. You can find two of my favorite hues for fall here and here, and if you’re unsure of how to achieve a perfect gel manicure at home, I do happen to have a handy tutorial for you. (Get it? Handy? COME ON.)
