Spanx Leather Leggings
You guys, this was #1 by a lot. I have a sneaky feeling it has to do with our endless quest to make leggings count as pants, and you know what, I’m proud. These faux leather leggings come in at under $100, and they’re becoming a gold standard in things with stretchy waists. I can attest that throwing these on with suede over-the-knee boots and an oversized chunky sweater is my dinner uniform between November and March.

Everlane Jeans
Known for being stretchy denim that still looks… you know, like jeans, these wonders were no surprise to see pop up in your favorites. Seriously well-priced and made to last, you’d do well to score a pair or three. Also, as a tall girl, I’m always doing hand springs when I see denim available in multiple lengths and these are here for you in petite, regular and tall. (Love the colors they come in btw!)

Midi Dresses
Ah yes, the middle child of hems, I am a huge fan of this dress length, I’m sure you’ve seen one or twenty of them make appearances in my 30 Dresses in 30 Days series. There’s a timelessness to this length that’s completely charming, I’m convinced it’s flattering on absolutely every body type, and they’re just as at ease with tights as they are with nothing at all. More midis in 2019, please.

Stuart Weitzman Boots
You know I’m fully on board with this one. 90% of the boots I own are Stuart Weitzman, and the best part is that many of them I bought 4+ years ago (but still look new). This brand has set and maintained the gold standard in boots, and it sounds like most of you agree there’s nothing in your wardrobe that gets more use. My favorite styles include this knee-high pair, this flat over-the-knee pair and this suede bootie-style pair.

More favorite leggings! Lululemon and Zella
Let’s hear it for elastic waists! Errr, elastic everything? Leggings are making a very strong showing on the list this year (no surprise there), and I’m so glad that so many of you have found your perfect pairs. For plenty of you, these yoga-ready wonders by Lululemon were the discovery of 2018. Nearly tied with them were Zella leggings from Nordstrom which are also perfect for working out, or doing the polar opposite of working out, at a price point that’s unbeatable for the quality.

Max Mara Coats
Cold? No, how could you be, you’re swaddled in a Max Mara coat! Peacoats, belted coats, soft-hued tones and a variety of lengths. If you’re looking for an investment coat you’ll love and live in forever (seriously), this is it. Another great brand for timeless coats that wear like iron and last forever is Fleurette.

Blazers
Yes to this. Yes to blazers. Perfectly pairable with SO many outfits and completely timeless when well-cared-for, blazers are a sartorial secret weapon I was delighted to see on the list. New project? Experiment with shapes, lengths, and textures. You can do it.
The blazer brands to know if you’re looking for something really well-made and timeless include Smythe, Veronica Beard (I want this one!), Rebecca Taylor and Reiss.

The Classic Belt
Huge numbers of your submitted this classic Gucci belt as your favorite piece of 2018, and whether you’re donning a luxury designer belt or something less label-laden like this favorite Frame belt, I can’t overstate the power of this accessory. You know I’m always adding a belt to dresses, jeans, long-line blazers, you name it. A classic belt is absolutely the accessory MVP of my closet.

Everlane ReNew Fleece Sweatshirt
I’ll be honest, I had never even heard of this sweatshirt until roughly 500 of you submitted it as your favorite clothing purchase of 2018. Needless to say, I ordered it in “oat” immediately and haven’t taken it off since tearing it out of the box. It’s so soft and cozy PLUS it’s eco-friendly and $55. I guess this is only the seven hundredth time that Everlane has blown my mind…
10
Cashmere Scarf
Yes, let’s live in them. And to be clear, this doesn’t just mean when on your commute braving arctic temps. The best cashmere scarves can do that, but can also double as a cozy wrap when chilly at your desk, whipping up dinner, doing whatever you need to do. I need my cashmere to be a multi-tasker.

Madewell Jeans
When you find THE pair, you just know it. So many of you found that perfect fit at Madewell this year, and I’m so happy for your new relationship. Bonus: Look into their jean jackets–they’re perfect.

Sorel Boots
I am so with you on this one. Sorel’s weather boots are the perfect mix of form and function, keeping you warm and dry when the weather is anything but. They also keep weather-wise outfits from looking comical, an impressive feet. Yes, I meant to spell it that way.
