Afternoon tea is ideal for showcasing an outfit that’s all about femininity. I mean, you felt a little fancy just making plans for this occasion, let’s not forget all the fun in dressing for it, too. I really love the shape this dress creates, with a ruffle hem dropping below the waist to perfectly appropriate midi length. Also, can we hear it for long sleeves that aren’t all the way long? My bracelets would like to attend tea as well, thanks.
Also, I have to shout out the ingenious smocked paneling at the sides of the bodice on this dress which you can’t really see but which ensure the most incredibly flattering and uber comfortable fit. So many dresses with a perfectly nipped-in waist look great but make you feel like you’re wearing a corset all day. Not the case for this one.
Winter florals are some of my favorite prints, and Rebecca Taylor’s Tilda Dress is no exception. This floral motif against a burgundy (I’m a creature of habit, I admit it) backdrop is the perfect approach for a cup of Earl Grey and a catch-up with your favorite ladies. A ruffled hem and slightly poofed shoulder don’t hurt, either.
You can’t go wrong with a classic heel for tea and an oversized faux fur topper like this Tibi number (which might just be my favorite purchase of the year), is going to keep you nice and warm. Explore more teatime-ready options below!
