INTERMIX Laura Puff Sleeve Midi Dress
Here, you’re witnessing an outfit centered around a dress so perfect for me it’s as if INTERMIX and I have some sort of mind-meld thing happening. It’s from INTERMIX’s own in-house line, the Laura Puff Sleeve Midi Dress in this rather stunning olive shade. A puffy sleeve, a split hem, and elastic cuff, what more can I ask for?! It’s the ideal dreamy summer dress in my opinion, as evidenced by the fact that it’s essentially effortless to accessorize. The olive hue also lends itself really well towards fall—I already have visions of layering a denim jacket or knitwear on top.

In Supporting Roles
We have a fleet of accessories that look great now, but are just begging the weather to start transitioning to fall. First up, a pair of Elizabeth Cole earrings with just a little bit of sparkle to remind us that sparkling is an indeed an option. Next, a Loeffler Randall two-tone canvas belt to add a bit of depth to the overall look, given that the dress is a solid color. It’s important to note that the dress does come with its own belt in the same fabric, but I thought I’d mix things up—live a little, if you will. Last but not least, I’m wearing one of my favorite shoes at the moment, Senso’s Maisy Croc-Embossed Slide Sandals.
If you scroll down, you’ll see that one last surprise accessory makes a necessary appearance: this leopard print mask by Veronica Beard. I’m a big fan of buying cute masks in multiples when you find them, so that you’re never without one in between loads of laundry. It’s made of double layered cotton and has a soft, adjustable bridge at the nose. It is also, as you may have noticed, quite cute, actually contributing to my overall look rather than styling me as though I’m about to perform surgery or perhaps give someone a dental inspection.
VERONICA BEARD

I know we’ve been relying on loungewear a LOT these last few months. But let me tell you, it’s good for the soul to put on a real outfit that feels like you once in a while. It also comes with the added bonus of being in your closet for all time. And you better believe this classic look will be on repeat next summer and the summer after that.

I’ve said this before, but I have the need to say it again – You ALWAYS look better in the outfits you wear than the models on the clothing websites. Looking at this Intermix dress on the website, I am not impressed. Looking at it on you, it’s super cute!!!
I love an easy-to-wear midi dress! And totally mum-friendly too. Now…where did I put that credit card??
YES!! I’ve been feeling like I’m the only person who actually wants to stop working from home full time so I have an excuse to wear real clothes again. I miss my heels! I miss my entire work closet! I miss picking out the shoes and accessories I’m going to wear for the day! I miss the elation I feel when a random person says “I love your outfit”. (Especially when it’s a dress and I can say “Thanks! It has pockets too!”) I just need someone other than my husband and my cats to see my outfits.
VERY nice! Can you please tell me about the sunglasses?
Thank you!
Hi Catherine,
They are Marni tortoiseshell sunglasses. But it looks like they are sold out in most places, I’m afraid.
Mary
I agree, Mary! I’m ready to wear some of my “real” clothes that are gathering dust after nearly six months. #overit
I agree with Julie. And it was so fun to see YOU on the Ann Taylor website, wearing the colorful plain skirt! I couldn’t resist!
I am obsessed with this dress and the belt! Gorgeous!
