While my skin’s genetic makeup may be pretty similar to that of my mother’s and grandmothers’, the environmental factors and daily habits that affect my skin have sure changed dramatically. Have you realized how constantly craning your neck downwards to look at your phone all day is causing premature aging on your neck and chin area? It’s called “tech neck” and as someone whose job almost entirely revolves around my iPhone, it’s a little (a LOT) terrifying. What’s even worse is that consistent computer, tablet and cell phone use also causes premature wrinkles in many other areas as well. Gulp. Most people squint and furrow their brow when looking at a screen all day (GUILTY!), causing premature aging on your forehead and eye area. Additionally, speaking frequently on your cell phone causes bacteria deposits onto your cheek where the phone comes into contact with your face causing acne, enlarged pores, aging… all kinds of bad stuff. So what’s a tech-dependent girl to do?
Throw your phone out the window and move to Siberia. It’s cold and isolated, but without the ability to use a cell phone or the internet, your skin will look incredible! Problem solved.
If you’re not on board with the Siberia move, then I’ve got a backup plan for you: There’s an absolutely KILLER new skincare line that is not only founded by leaders in skincare technology but is also specifically designed for millennials whose skin is facing these new technology-induced situational stressors. The brand is called Nia (it stands for Not Into Aging… apropos, no?) and I’ve been using it like crazy lately. It goes beyond pre-empting early signs of aging and targets the unique lifestyle stressors that are attacking our skin like the effects of technology and pollution—things that our mothers and grandmothers didn’t face at our age. The line is created by the makers of StriVectin (the skincare technology powerhouse) who boasts the development of NIA-114, a patented molecule that fortifies and protects skin against the impact of millennial lifestyle stressors.
Thank God for the rockstars out there that enjoyed Chemistry class more than I did. On behalf of myself and my skin, I salute you.

The line is comprised of six products right now, and I’m happy to report that I’ve tried all of them and can give them a wholehearted two thumbs up (wish I had a third). As you can see above, they have a hydrating cleansing foam, an incredible whipped clay peel-off mask, an awesome serum moisturizer, a tech neck line smoother, an eye gel, and an energizing illuminator.
Scouts honor, the incorporation of these products into my beauty routine has already yielded visible results. I’ve loved all of the products, but I’ve definitely been using the peel-off mask, the serum x moisturizer and the tech neck smoother the most.

The Sunday Detox Whipped Clay Peel-Off Mask might actually just be my favorite peel-off mask to date. I love that it’s a foam product, so it doesn’t feel sticky and gross going on like other peel-off masks. While it sits on your face it deposits nutrients and all kinds of other good skin-boosting, anti-aging magic, and then once it dries (in tens minutes or less) you peel it off, causing the mask to draw out dirt and debris from your pores, removing blackheads, and exfoliating away dead skin cells. It feels SO GOOD and immediately makes your face appear smoother and straight-up RADIANT. I’m obsessed. I like that it’s called the “Sunday Detox” mask because it’s my favorite way to end the weekend and prep my skin for the week ahead.

The Fully Charged Serum x Moisturizer has been a favorite to apply every morning under my makeup. It’s a really lightweight moisturizer which is exactly what I want (and need!) in the mornings to prep my skin and fight signs of aging. I’ve absolutely noticed a difference in my skin’s brightness and hydration throughout the day which has helped keep my makeup intact and really kept my skin from getting shiny. That dreaded shine or oiliness halfway through the day is definitely the biggest complaint I have with my skin, and is caused by skin that isn’t properly hydrated, triggering an overreaction and over-production of oil (helloooo shine factory). This serum x moisturizer has dramatically reduced these issues, and also made my skin’s texture noticeably smoother. Major wins.

I also have to give a major shoutout to the Tech Neck Line Smoother which I’ve been applying every morning and night. I feel like I’ve always been good about skincare on my face, but have really neglected my neck and decolletage until recently. The Tech Neck Smoother has a built-in roller to deposit the serum and gently massage your neck (it feels AMAZING) which increases blood flow to the area and smooths fine lines. Take THAT, iPhone.
