Today was supposed to be my first day back in NYC for the start of New York Fashion Week, but I was stricken by the black plague yesterday and have been down for the count—missing my flight yesterday afternoon because I’m currently unable to stand upright, which apparently is a requirement when going through airport security. Here’s hoping I’ve just been hit with a 24 hour flu and can make it out tomorrow or Saturday for the rest of fashion week.
In the interim, this casual workwear look featuring my favorite windowpane jacket is the first of a few outfits I already had teed up to share here while I was traveling. The jacket has a beautiful drape and is super lightweight, serving as the perfect topper during the spring and summer months. The classic windowpane print looks amazing with more formal ensembles (I paired a similar winter coat with a simple all-black ensemble here) but also looks great over jeans and a t-shirt as styled today. Later in the day, I even switched out my heels for these favorite sneakers to run errands, and the jacket perfectly adapted to the sporty vibe.
Ok, back to my cocktail of dayquil and ginger ale…
