There are few retailers that nail workwear season after season like Ann Taylor. After perusing the new fall collection, I can confidently say that this season is no exception. Today, I’m sporting this mixed tweed jacket in shades of blue-gray with black leather accents and a complementary tweed pencil skirt. Tweed is about as classic as textiles get, but Ann Taylor does an amazing job of modernizing the tried and true fabric with a cropped silhouette and leather detailing. I kind of feel like this jacket is the female workwear equivalent of Cal Naughton Jr’s tuxedo t-shirt in Talladega Nights. C’mon. You know the quote.
P.S. If you haven’t entered the giveaway yet, get on it! The raffle closes this Friday at 5pm. Check out this post for all the details.
P.P.S. The ease with which I can associate any life situation to a Will Ferrell movie is thanks to my darling brothers. It plagues me.

Love that jacket! I can just drool over Ann Taylor's website for hours. Weirdest thing though – the preview pic for this post on Bloglovin is from Ricky Bobby! Like why did it pick that with all the images on this page…?
“I like to picture Jesus in a tuxedo T-Shirt because it says I want to be formal, but I'm here to party” 😉
Great outfit! I haven't tried a lot of Ann Taylor clothing, but I LOVE Ann Taylor Loft!
Love Ann Taylor! They are always spot on with the latest trends!

Awesome outfit! Love how you layered all the pieces. Beautiful!
Haha, that is as bizarre as it is hilarious : )
Ann Taylor looks very classy from afar indeed – but once you get your hands on the items, it's a big disappointment. The fabrics are cheap and low quality, mixed fibers all over the place. Tweed is meant to be wool, not an inexpensive mix of rayon, viscose, polyester with a touch of wool. Even your closeup photos show how low quality the fabric is.
I love Ann Taylor the past couple of years, but I always try to shop in-store instead of online. They have amazing style.
I wish I could enter your giveaway but I don't have Instagram (or a smartphone).
Love your classy style. Favorite part of this outfit must surely be the shoes. 😉

I'm really sorry you feel that way! But I have to disagree — I've worn many Ann Taylor pieces over the years, and have always been very satisfied with the quality you get for the affordable price. Unfortunately, many women can't afford to buy 100% wool garments, so Ann Taylor offers a fantastic selection of more budget-friendly pieces which offer working women great value. That's why I love working with the brand and sharing their pieces on the blog!
I love all the Ann Taylor clothes these past seasons. They nail it every time for workwear, just as you do!

You look marvelous, darling!
THANK YOU. Sorry not everyone can afford 100% wool couture. Ann Taylor stuff is awesome.
Stunning !!
This shoes are to die for !!
Thank you for featuring this look! I've just bought those pumps and was hoping my search for the perfect black heel was over. Seeing what you bought on someone else somehow helps ? Haha I don't know why.
You really rock them, they look perfect !
I also liked them bc I thought they would transition well to semi casual evening wear e.g out dancing etc- what do you think ?
