I’ve been on the hunt for a marigold pea coat but the details have to be right. The marigold has to have some real depth and richness to it – no flat yellows. And, if the quality of the wool and details of the coat aren’t top notch, the overall look will be cheap. NOT HERE, FRIENDS. Michael Kors’ wool melton peacoat is a thing of beauty, a monument to needle and thread and the autumnal palette. Naturally, I felt it necessary to cover my entire body in this color because too much of a good thing is… great? I paired the coat with this cropped turtleneck and matching wool melton mini skirt topped with this perfect oversized chain-link belt because when I saw a full monochromatic marigold look I said, let’s add gold now, shall we?

Of course, you don’t have to go bananas (lol, yellow jokes) like I did. You could, for example, just wear one marigold-hued piece at once instead of three. (To each their own.) The color is gorgeous paired with denim (might I suggest these beauties?) or paired with ivories, chocolate browns or my personal favorite, burgundy.
