The Jumper

Jacket: old but similar here  |  Dress: Tory Burch (love this one and more below)  |  Shoes: Ralph LaurenShirt: Brooks Brothers  |  Rings: Gorjana (similar here)  |  Polish: Essie (Fishnet Stockings) In the wallet-busting wake of Black Friday and Cyber Monday, I’m guessing that many of you are feeling a tad cash poor right now.   So instead of focusing on the fact that you’re staring down the barrel of many ramen noodle filled months while trying to pay off all of those i-swear-they’re-gifts-and-not-just-all-for-me charges, allow me to present one of my favorite season-stretching wardrobe secrets that will revolutionize your cold-weather repertoire: sleeveless dresses turned JUMPERS.Ok, fine.  The concept is neither a secret nor is it revolutionary.  However, the vast majority of my sleeveless dresses never see the light of day between November and April in NYC because I too often fail to remember this trick.  So today, let this be a reminder to us all: throw an oxford shirt or turtleneck under those babies and voila! you’ve got yourself a jumper and just doubled your winter wardrobe.P.S. If you’re reading this in the UK and you call certain sweaters “jumpers” and most jumpers “pinafores”… well, sorry about all the confusion.  I’m also sorry you don’t have Black Friday.  And Disney World.  Otherwise, I’m an enormous fan of your country.P.P.S. I shot these pictures when it was much warmer in NYC hence the green leaves and lack of tights… Shop the Post: Photos by Jeff Thibodeau
