I’m a huge fan of the Victorian trend—mostly because I like to pretend that I’m the Dowager Countess in her prime, firing off Downton Maggie Smith quotes all day—but also, because Victorian silhouettes are… well, super pretty.  As such, when perusing the White House Black Market spring arrivals, this blouse was screaming my name and I knew it would be just the right update to my warm weather work wardrobe.
As for the culottes, you know I’ve hardly met a culotte I didn’t like, but these?! Whew. Adding a suede pair to my collection had me so amped I nearly tackled the UPS delivery guy when he rang the doorbell. Honestly, I was shocked (but, actually) at the crazy good quality and fit of these suckers, and plan to wear them as frequently this Spring as is socially acceptable/hygenic.
Polish it all off with a classic snakeskin pump that is as immediately comfy as it is attractive, and you’ve basically got my Spring essentials in a nutshell. NOM.
Love the blouse and that you can button it as high up, or as low as you want depending on the occasion. I’m not a culotte fan but make these into a pair of suede pants and I’d love them. Have to check out WHBM to see if they have any.
This blouse looks classic. One of my friends liked it. Especially the button designs make her impress. Soon she will try to have one like that. She always trying to get latest designed model dress. Recently she ordered a dress from an online store as Yeytrend.
If someone would have told me that I would be obsessed with suede culottes I wouldn’t have believe them, but after seeing this outfit I am. This is perfection!! I love everything about the look.
Love this entire outfit. I think the snake pump was a good choice given the monochrome feel of the rest of the outfit. I don’t know how I’d feel wearing suede but I generally like the colour of the culottes. Heck, I like all neutrals lmao.
Maybe it’s a weird question but how do you clean these pants? I mean not just the inside, but all of them if you know what i mean? ( i love them but you know, hygiene and stuff)
This may be a little nosy, but what type of undergarments do you wear/consider essential? I’d love recommendations on what practical bras/undies not only stay comfortable all day but also stay invisible under clingy/thin material like that blouse!
Agree! I have asked Mary for similar information since proper undergarments can literally make or break the look of any outfit. She has featured other clothing items with unusual cuts such as one shoulder, very thin straps, etc. that have made me wonder what is underneath that keeps her look so sleek and impeccable (and yes I have strapless, seamless bras and the like, but I’m never happy with the way they actually look under clothing). So if Mary would consider adding that type of info to her posts I think her followers would be thrilled.
Great idea, I’ll definitely try to share more tips going forward about undergarments! In this post, I’m wearing this bra in color “light nude” under the blouse and as you can see, didn’t have any show-through. : )
Just beautiful as always! Quick question about the choker. Fallon has them in stock again and I ordered one and wondering how you were able to wrap it 3 times around your neck? I have a very thin neck and if I wrap it 3 times the ends just meet and do not overlap to be able to tie them together.
