One example of a spring style move to toss into heavy rotation is in this look. Which, if we dig deep here, is an outfit full of favorites. First, a belted look. Hi, my name is Mary, and I have a propensity to belt everything. Have we met? Second, a fun spring floral that defies all frilly conventions (this one’s from Banana Republic). Third, Sarah Flint Natalie flats in Cognac Brown. Which are actually a favorite of none other than Meghan Markle’s. And finally, a beautiful white blazer for spring. Which I hope you enjoy because you’re about to see it a lot.
Blazers and suits go together really naturally because of their shape and the way they create a balanced, no-brainer look from head to toe. However, that’s a little different when you’re mixing and matching. The way I created the same balanced, pulled-together feel to this look is by simply belting it! The cinched waist gives the outfit a great shape and the overall look enough professional polish for the office.
The gorgeous flats are an added bonus that prove our professional lives do not have to be lived entirely in heels. Thanks to the pointy toe and refined silhouette. If you’re in the market for killer flats, I can’t recommend this pair highly enough (use code MARY50 for $50 off!!), but also peep my post on the 13 best flats on the planet here.
The blazer + belt dream team is just getting warmed up for the season—much like the rest of us. As we progress further into spring, explore the style moves you haven’t made since it was warm enough outside to walk, rather than run, to your awaiting uber. And if you’re thinking… “I really don’t have any belts and blazers that I’m loving for spring,” to me that literally just sounds like a golden opportunity. Shop a few more of my faves below!
