Happy Monday! I recently teamed up with Boden to talk about fresh workwear staples for spring. If you keep up with me on instagram, you know that I’m in NYC for fashion week where the thermometer currently reads 3° Fahrenheit. Needless to say, I need a little springtime pick me up. Check out the full article here!
This post was sponsored by Boden. All product selections, styling and opinions are my own.

I discovered your blog when I was looking for pics of a Brooks Brothers seersucker suit which you have modeled beautifully. And wow I didn’t even know it has back buttons! I am eagerly expecting it in the mail today but with the skirt along with other BB goodies on sale, a gingham sheath, khaki linen/white tipped blazer skirt suit, and the linen navy/white tipped blazer. I prefer the look of the seersucker pants to be honest, on you perfection, but I look better in skirts.
So after seeing that seersucker post I’m like I want more! And I find this latest post and recognize the skirt immediately from my Boden catalogue. I never heard of that brand before getting that catalogue. I was entertaining that print in the dress in lilac like your skirt. If I wear a J Crew petite 0 in skirts what size would I be in Boden? The fact that it’s UK located intimidates me as far as returns.
Ooops I should have done my h.w. I see that they are US location. I found their website.
Yes, they are here in the US as well so super easy shipping and returns! As far as sizing goes, they have an awesome fit predictor tool on all of their product pages that you should check out. You can enter your sizes from J. Crew and it will tell you exactly what that translates to in Boden sizing : )
Thank you so much Mary! I took your advice and tried out the fit predictor using my J Crew size just as you recommended. I got three new blazers thanks to you! I wanted to ask if you think the navy short sleeve dress is cut on the smaller side? They suggested I get a 4P for that even after I wrote my usual size of 0P in J Crew.
Hmm that’s surprising. It fit true to size for me!
Woohoo! 5 tasteful and creative casual looks in one post. I hope more good brands team up with you and we’ll get to see multiple outfits more often. I can’t wait to see your conservative workwear for Spring. I think it’s not easy to create it because you can’t wear coat or thick blazer.
I LOVE Boden. I’m dying for those Alice heels! So cute for Spring!
Just wanted to thank you Mary for providing this service of modeling the clothing and matching up outfits. I must confess I never heard of Boden before getting that catalogue (that I threw out) bec. I had no idea it was US located so didn’t want the hassle of buying from them. After seeing your looks I clicked on the website and now I’ve discovered a whole new brand. I got the British tweed plaid blazer with red tipping and navy cotton blazer with mini white polka dots both on sale. I figure since I got the catalogue in the mail and I buy a lot from J Crew and Lands End that one of them sold my address and that’s how I got the Boden catalogue. Funny how they totally know my taste lol, I don’t think it’s always such a bad thing when companies do that bec. I discovered a new brand that I would never know about.
I love all the outfits! They’re so beautiful, but that pink sweater and the skirt are gorgeous <3 I'll definitely be checking out Boden 🙂
Easy, Frugal Style
