Speaking of designer options—the real reason I discovered these melamine plates at Shutterfly is because I was intent on finding a set of melamine dishware for the upcoming summer season so that if one of my children decided to spontaneously use their plate as a frisbee, everyone (including the plate) would survive. I ordered two sets of pricey designer melamine plates but had my heart set on finding a blue gingham option so ordered these much-less-expensive plates from Shutterfly on a whim.
