Finding the perfect wedding guest dress is never a walk in the park. Add unpredictable, changing fall temperatures to the mix, and the ordeal gets so complicated you start regretting that RSVP. At the recent wedding of my brother-in-law (and new sister-in-law!), I was lucky to find this DVF wrap maxi dress which fit the bill perfectly for me. The dress was light and comfortable in the daytime sun, but when temperatures dropped after sunset, I was grateful for longer sleeves and covered legs.

We had the most wonderful time in Montana at the wedding of my brother and sister-in-law. One of the questions I’m most frequently asked is how to take a look from day to night—sans the hour-long commute back to your closet. Of course, you can always lug a duffle to work and attempt a full wardrobe change in the bathroom stall of a nearby watering hole, but unless the après-work plans involve an invitation to the Met Gala, that’s a logistical nightmare that is just too much to handle. In real life, my favorite way to conquer day-to-night dressing doesn’t involve a wardrobe change at all, but rather involves some simple accessory changes that take no time and can completely transform your look.

When it comes to this kind of fuss-free desk-to-drinks transformation, the pinch hitter is jewelry. As you can see in today’s look, I wore these stunning LAGOS black pearl pieces for a sleek daytime look at the office, worn with a tailored black pant suit. The LAGOS pieces, though simple, make such a striking statement and are among the most treasured pieces in my jewelry box. Their classic, refined styles can be worn anywhere, dressed up or down, and make for the perfect finishing touch to any look—in or out of the office.
As evidenced above, I cannot get enough of LAGOS’s bracelets, which are understated enough to wear to the office, but all coordinate perfectly, transforming into amazing statement pieces when stacked together for an evening look. Of course, all of these jewelry items take up about three square inches of space in your bag, and combined with a little red lipstick, completely revamp your look for a night out in T-3 seconds (no bathroom stall required). Finding separates that match before your morning coffee can be a bit… daunting. I mean, there’s something about waking up in the morning and throwing on your favorite dress that just makes life easy. BUT! Matching sets combine the ease of a dress with the functionality of separates, tripling the outfit options. Wear them together, wear the blouse alone with your favorite jeans, wear the skirt solo with a chunky burgundy knit… the options are endless. If you’ve followed for a while, you know I’ve been a huge fan of the brand for years (who isn’t?) and her latest bags are particularly up my alley. Clean lines, classic jewel tones, and always the perfect marriage of form and function—these beauties were at the top of my fall wishlist. I’m also SWOONING over the larger version which comes in the same three perfect colors (burgundy, black and navy) and has that timeless vintage satchel silhouette that gets me every time.
