One of the questions I’m most frequently asked is how to take a look from day to night—sans the hour-long commute back to your closet.  Of course, you can always lug a duffle to work and attempt a full wardrobe change in the bathroom stall of a nearby watering hole, but unless the après-work plans involve an invitation to the Met Gala, that’s a logistical nightmare that is just too much to handle.  In real life, my favorite way to conquer day-to-night dressing doesn’t involve a wardrobe change at all, but rather involves some simple accessory changes that take no time and can completely transform your look.

#1 // DAY DRESSING

When it comes to this kind of fuss-free desk-to-drinks transformation, the pinch hitter is jewelry.  As you can see in today’s look, I wore these stunning LAGOS black pearl pieces for a sleek daytime look at the office, worn with a tailored black pant suit.  The LAGOS pieces, though simple, make such a striking statement and are among the most treasured pieces in my jewelry box.  Their classic, refined styles can be worn anywhere, dressed up or down, and make for the perfect finishing touch to any look—in or out of the office.

#2 // TAKING ON THE NIGHT

Once the work day is over, I ditch the blazer and layer on a few more of these LAGOS pieces to amp up the look for night time.  This tassel lariat necklace layers perfectly over my simple black pearl choker, I swap out the pearl earrings for some fun tassel danglers, and pile on bracelets and bangles for an arm party that’s ready and raring to help usher a martini or two down the hatch.

As evidenced above, I cannot get enough of LAGOS’s bracelets, which are understated enough to wear to the office, but all coordinate perfectly, transforming into amazing statement pieces when stacked together for an evening look.  Of course, all of these jewelry items take up about three square inches of space in your bag, and combined with a little red lipstick, completely revamp your look for a night out in T-3 seconds (no bathroom stall required).  Cheers!
