I wanted this Mother’s Day table to be a welcoming, sweetly-styled table with feminine touches and a delicate color palette. For a crisp, classic base layer I used this white linen tablecloth which set a bright stage for the rest of the table setting. It’s also a great staple to have on hand and have at-the-ready for any last-minute entertaining. To add some dimension and a little bit of seasonal texture, I added this set of natural fiber woven placemats on top of sweetly ruffled hemstitch placemats which demanded they be paired with the matching ruffle hemstich napkins, obviously. This Noritake china features the most charming peony pattern, ideal for Mother’s Day and eminently reusable for a variety of gatherings including afternoon teas, weekend brunches, you name it. I mean, just look at the detail on these plates! What’s that you ask? Is there a delicate blue rim on each pieces? Of course there is. Also, if you’ve been searching high and low for the perfect set of dishwasher-safe brushed copper flatware, you’re welcome my friends. Very welcome indeed.
Let’s talk drinking vessels, because the right table setting with the wrong glassware loses its luster, quickly. When your table is bursting with floral china, woven placemats and ruffles galore, sometimes you need to go simple with the glassware so as not to over-style your table. Thankfully, this set of sleek, modern stemware was waiting for me at Home Depot, ready to join the party.
Now, let’s talk centerpieces, because I know we’ve all been looking forward to this part. One of my absolute favorite finds was this classic ceramic set of bud vases. I used three of the bigger vases on our Easter table a couple weeks ago and am using four smaller vases from the set here. I’m telling you, a set of bud vases like this is ideal. You will use it countless times in a million different combinations and the assorted heights not only add visual interest but also ensure that there’s always an ideal mix of vases for any table you put together.
In addition to styling my Mother’s Day table via Home Depot, I’m also taking this rather convenient opportunity to to purchase a few great gifts for the moms in my life, too. Namely, this cheese board serving set with a glass dome, and an extremely pretty Corkcicle stemless wine tumbler for evenings on the beach.
Happy Mother’s Day and happy tablescaping with endless options from Home Depot!
