    Leftovers Ideas

Let’s be smart this year, let’s come to the table, literally, with ideas for leftovers so that we’re not staring at half a bird on Friday not knowing what to do with ourselves. This list is REALLY good, seriously these are NOT your basic recipes, so you’ll be prepared for ongoinog deliciousness in advance.

    Pumpkin Dessert Options

Alright, it’s time you knew. I don’t like pumpkin pie. This is my truth, and you need to hear it. I love Thanksgiving, but I’ve always felt so disappointed in myself for not enjoying this cornerstone of the very holiday itself! This year, I’m rethinking my strategy. This year I’m exploring OTHER THINGS THAT ARE PUMPKIN, WOW—and one of the pumpkin desserts recipes on this list will reclaim pumpkin, and perhaps even Thanksgiving itself, in my heart. And tummy.

    Pared-Down Thanksgiving

For those doing solo or duo Thanksgivings, which is so many of us, I really love this festive take on Thanksgiving dinner. (Or lunch, it’s your house, your schedule, make it Thanksgiving breakfast if you want! Go crazy.) This is a right-sized approach to festive dining, that doesn’t feel even the slightest bit like a consolation-prize. Honestly, I’d eat that honey butter roasted turkey any day of the year.

    Mushroom Bread Pudding

I would like to climb inside this mushroom bread pudding and never emerge. It is possible I’ve spent a significant portion of my time recently researching recipes for Thanksgiving slash every meal for the foreseeable future and this one has stood out as particularly delish. The bread. In there. Is brioche.

    My Taco Chili Recipe

I have one recipe, and one recipe only that I can claim as truly “mine.” It is this chili, and this chili is GOOD (if I do say so myself). If you’re freezing and maybe also just a little bit in need of a one-pot dinner solution, I can’t recommend my recipe enough. Make a giant pot and freeze half of it in small containers so you can enjoy throughout the season.

    Ravioli Snacks

I mean I know I had you at the name, but please look into this recipe and add it to your list of weekend television snacks posthaste. The recipe, by my friend Tieghan of Half Baked Harvest, is incredibly easy and crowd-pleasing. I’m also not upset about having MULTIPLE reasons to keep frozen ravioli in my kitchen, just sayin…

    Shortcut Apple Cider Donuts

I want as little in between me and apple cider donuts as possible, and this shortcut recipe meets my culinary criteria. If you don’t have time to make dough from scratch and/or can’t get out to an apple orchard this year because of… I don’t know, a pandemic, definitely take this sweet recipe for a spin.

    S’mores Upgrades

Do not let summer bonfires keep all the s’mores for themselves. Fall means cold weather, cold weather means fire pits and fire pits mean s’mores. GIVE ME S’MORES. But you know what I always say about my s’mores? They’re NOT STICKY ENOUGH. Enter this recipe which has sparked magical s’mores ideas in my brain. While I do take offense to the suggestion that I should make my own graham crackers (this is 2020, we’ve suffered enough, thank you), the addition of caramel to an already perfect campfire recipe is VERY INTRIGUING INDEED. But here’s what I’m thinking: A fall bonfire…

    Creative Negronis

Even during this excuse for a summer we’re having, negronis are THE drink. They’re such an easy, classic cocktail that’s been pairing perfectly with patios forever, even if the “patio” is your fire escape. Doesn’t matter. The Infatuation recently published a guide to three takes on a negroni that will ensure you round out these warm weather days free of beverage boredom.
