    Kid Crafts Kit

We recently gave this craft kit to Coco for her birthday and it’s been a huge hit. It includes over 1,000 supplies like pipe cleaners, beads, sequins and my personal favorite, googly eyes. In addition to sparking their imagination,  creativity, problem-solving and fine motor skills, these crafts keep my kids engaged for hours.

    Goodbye Squirrels Sizzlin’ Bird Seed

Yep, you read that right. This is birdseed formulated with hot peppers! While completely safe (and tasty) to birds, the spice in this birdseed makes it intolerable to the most menacing of backyard critters: squirrels. So, if you love feeding birds and welcoming our stunning avian friends into your outdoor areas but would prefer not to feed every squirrel in the neighborhood, give this stuff a try. Needlepoint

I am currently very determined to get back into needlepointing because I have my heart set on making pillows for the girls’ room (how wild is that to say) like these or these. There are several months left of winter, it’s time to get crafty.

    Cricut Joy Machine

I’m aware that there’s a HUGE community of Cricut fanatics out there, and that the hobby itself can get really involved. (Have you seen the AISLES dedicated to Cricut paraphernalia at craft stores, I mean HAVE YOU?) However, I would like to dabble in this sweet personalization craft machine without becoming a full-fledged Craft Mom. This machine is a great way to try your hand at Cricut because it keeps things simple and allows you to personalize cards, mugs, essentially all the little things you love to give as thoughtful gifts. For Colette’s birthday last Fall, a friend used this…

    Etching Books

Fall’s around the corner and very soon we’re going to be in need of new indoor quarantine distractions. If you love coloring books, etching books are a fun spin on adult chill-out activities. You essentially etch into the paper to reveal a colorful background, creating works of art in the process. It is extremely satisfying. If you’re all puzzled out, give this a try.

    Creative Collab

Sometimes amazing creativity can come out of solemn times. I recently had the huge pleasure of joining Katie Rodgers of @paperfasion in a “creative duet” that you may have seen here on my Instagram. I played a song (The Prayer) on the piano which she then used to inspire a painting. You can see the side-by-side video of our efforts here. Katie began this series of creative duets a few weeks ago, working with many different artists, as a fun way of encouraging people to enjoy creative pursuits of all kinds, at all levels, especially during these trying times. Whether…
