Sheila G’s Brownie Brittle Salted Caramel

I can tell you from experience that there is not an abundance of low-calorie, sweet, crispy, brownie-flavored brittle treats just LYING AROUND, okay? I’ve done the research and put in the legwork. Sheila G’s are a bright spot in the treats department for those of us who don’t want a whole actual brownie but also don’t NOT want one, you know? These are wafer-thin and salted caramel flavored and honestly, I can’t type anymore I must snack.

    Low-Mercury Tuna

One of my favorite discoveries during pregnancy is this low-mercury tuna that I’ve been eating throughout baby #2’s time in my tummy. Pregnant women are typically advised to avoid tuna or anything with higher mercury levels, but Safe Catch is a brand that ensures low mercury levels in every fish, and theirs is the only tuna product endorsed by the American Pregnancy Association. It’s such a delight to be able to safely act on my near-constant craving for a tuna melt. Yum.

    Thrive Market

Especially at this time of year, we’re all focused on nutrition and health-conscious cooking. But, sometimes, it can be hard to find the items we’re looking for at local markets. I’m sure you’ve also noticed certain ingredients can really hike up the price of your grocery bills. Thrive Market is an amazing destination for finding the wellness and health-focused foods (and beauty, and household items!) you want, at majorly discounted prices, all delivered to your door. There is an annual membership fee involved, and this fee is what allows you to get those incredible discounts and free shipping on orders…

The Best Trader Joe’s Holiday Products

Hello and welcome to my holiday season grocery list. If you look forward to Trader Joe’s festive items all year, make sure you peruse this master list for anything you might accidentally be overlooking. By the way, if the store is out of chocolate-covered peppermint Joe-Joes, I’m going to require hospitalization.

    Goldbelly

If you’re unfamiliar with this deliciousness, Goldbelly lets you send food gifts from famous chefs and restaurants (think Junior’s cheesecakes, Momofuku, Balthazar, Magnolia Baker and endless others) to anyone, anywhere, anytime. It’s a brilliant option to keep on file when you need to send a gift to someone who’s particularly hard to shop for. Personally, I’m ordering Ess-A-Bagel from NYC because I miss them terribly since we’ve moved. I love that this site has an option for all of us missing the places we might not be able to travel to this year! They’re having a huge sitewide Cyber Monday…

Okay okay okay, OKAY. If you don’t want to…actually bake your own treats this year, you can leave it to the professionals and order Milk Bar Thanksgiving desserts instead! This festively themed box contains a full celebration’s worth of treats from one of the best names in the dessert business. Pumpkin is a recurring theme, so maybe I need to take my own advice here?? This makes SUCH a sweet gift (literally) to send to loved ones as well!

    Peppermint Bark

Sometimes it’s all about new seasonal discoveries, and sometimes it’s about the basics that just make you smile (and your tastebuds leap) year after year. I’m quite certain you’ve all already added this to cart, but just in case, consider this your annual reminder to stock up on the world’s best peppermint bark. Were you also aware that it comes in Advent Calendar format? Because I was not and now it’s my new favorite holiday/hostess gift. Although, if you actually have the self-restraint to open only one door a day for 25 days, I commend thee.

    Ready-To-Bake Chocolate Croissants

Do you even need my thoughts here? I feel like we know each other well enough and you’ve already clicked the link. I’m speaking into the void right now, aren’t I? For anyone left still reading, know that I’m screaming the following sentence: Williams Sonoma sells ready-to-bake pain au chocolat and it is my life’s purpose to tell everyone that they exist. I mean, I want to say they’re the ultimate holiday gift but who could purchase these and NOT fill their own homes with the scent of freshly baked chocolate croissants?? THIS is the pastry shortcut I’ve needed all…

    MUD WTR

Listen, me personally? I’m not letting go of my coffee any time soon. Indeed you’d have to pry it out of my cold dead hands. However, if you’re someone who finds coffee has a jittery or unwanted effect on you, Mud/Wtr might be worth a try. It’s a coffee alternative with 1/7th the caffeine of standard morning brews, and it’s packed with ingredients known to provide natural energy. Also saying you drink mud water just makes you sound kind of badass.
