Dyson Airwrap Styler

This hair styling device from the future was announced last week, and needless to say, I ordered it the next morning. It hasn’t arrived yet, so stay tuned for a full report, but I have high, high hopes for this sucker. Recent Lip Favorite

I recently discussed the top reader-recommended lip products which was about the time I finally joined the rest of the world and bought the Dior Addict Lip Glow in shade “Berry.” I now can’t figure out what I did before having this product. SO moisturizing and a beautiful touch of color. But speaking of moisturizing lip products, I can already feel the cooler temps starting to dry out my lips, so I’ve been hitting this Laneige product hard. If you follow me on instagram or have peeped my ultimate list of beauty favorites, you know I’m a huge fan of Laura Mercier. The brand just launched a new line of matte lipsticks which I’ve been testing over the last several weeks and I can now confirm I’m an enormous fan. They’re full coverage, matte, moisturizing, and come in the most insanely beautiful range of colors. I’m also a huge fan of the long, slim “bullet” packaging with a built-in shaper for when you need a perfect line.

Tangle Teaser

After a friend kept raving about this brush from Amazon I finally ordered one and I now can’t BELIEVE I’ve lived my entire life trying to detangle my thick hair with a regular brush. It makes detangling wet or dry hair completely easy and pain-free and, most importantly, minimizes breakage during the process. Not only do I use it on wet hair, but the tangle teezer brush is also amazing to use after spraying my dry hair with hairspray when I’m styling it (as described in this post on how I curl my hair).

Where I get my hair done in NYC

Since posts on instagram and insta stories always get lost and forgotten, I wanted to memorialize my answer to this frequently asked question here. I get my hair cut and colored at Fourteenjay Salon in Tribeca. I can not say enough good things about this salon. The spa-like ambiance, the friendliest service, the impeccable attention to detail and (most importantly) the absolute best-in-class hair colorists and stylists. Their motto of “beautiful color begins with healthy hair” rings true in everything they do and I can’t recommend them highly enough. I will be naming my first-born child Fourteenjay.

Purple Shampoo For Blondes

A reader recently asked about the shampoo I use, and since I have medium-dark blonde hair, my favorite shampoos are those that counteract brassiness. There are a lot of great “purple” shampoos that allow you to maintain ashy blonde locks between colorings, and right now, my favorites are the Drybar Blonde Ale Brightening Shampoo and L’Oreal Paris EverPure Blonde Shampoo.
