A word about my hair: It is naturally straight and thick. Given this information, and in accordance with the “grass is always greener” laws of human nature, all I ever want (of course) is volume and curls. Alas, my heavy, straight hair does not hold curl particularly well, no matter how much product (and quite frankly prayer) I put into it.

However, during Fashion Week, I had the pure joy of having an Aveda stylist come to my home, and style my hair for Fashion Week. With some combination of black magic, expert technique and key products, she gave me curly volume that lasted FOR DAYS—a completely unprecedented achievement. In fact, when I woke up on day four with literally perfect, voluminous curls still intact, I frantically texted my stylist (@brittdionhair) and begged her to tell me every product and technique she used so I could recreate the look (and share the secrets with all of you, obvi).
