I was thrilled when my friend Eva Amurri invited me to be a guest blogger on her site, Happily Eva After, during her maternity leave. Hers is a site and voice I really admire, so I was honored that she asked me to share my top tips for working moms with newborns—basically all of the life hacks that helped me survive Colette’s first six months of life. These are helpful whether you’re a mom who’s taking maternity leave or not, and many of my best pieces of advice last long after your kiddo is past the baby stage. Take a read here if you haven’t already and then immediately get lost in all of the amazing content Eva provides across her site!
Tips For Working Moms
Working out is hard as it is, but adding pregnancy to the mix is a whole other can of worms. Some days you feel energized, other days you feel like sitting up is an olympic sport. Today, I’m sharing my pregnancy fitness routine, but it’s important to understand that there have been many days (and weeks) where I haven’t felt up to working out and have stayed squarely on my couch with a pint of Ben & Jerry’s. So don’t be too hard on yourself. Also, it’s important to note that I’m neither a doctor nor a certified trainer. Be sure to discuss your fitness plans with qualified professionals (especially your physician) before you get after it in the gym.
