Capes are in it to win it again this fall and winter, so above I’ve provided a round-up of some of my favorites. As you can see in this post, this post and this post, I’m a fan. However, it’s important to note that my fondness for the chicly shapeless outerwear goes beyond just a desire to occasionally pretend I’m Hermione Granger (as discussed here) and/or cover up a Chipotle-induced food belly. Not only do I find them very attractive and oh. so. comfortable, but they can also be absolutely clutch when wearing a blazer or suit to the office (as worn in this post). If you’re someone that works in a business formal environment and find yourself awkwardly trying to stuff your suit jacket sleeves into the sleeves of a coat or trench, you probably know the misery of this process, not to mention the irreversible wrinkling effect on your suit jacket/blazer sleeves that are subsequently on display throughout the rest of your work day. Enter the cape, which allows for the abandonment of the awkwardly over-stuffed arms, yet still provides that critical extra layer of warmth. So go ahead, get your cape on.

Wow this is an awesome line up of capes. I've been trying to find one that I like… and now i guess i've found 20!
Hi Mary! A somewhat urgent question for you. How do you feel about toe cleav in the workplace? Just realized the black pumps I fall back on are definitely toe-showing. Just flipped thru your pictures and I don't see a single instance of it…what about for an interview situation? Not acceptable?

Alright, you've convinced me. Somehow I never thought of this as a solution to the blazer issue. Brilliant. Also, I love your old post about capes that you linked to (somehow I missed this). That cape is stunning! I love the camel and black. I pretty much need to hop on this trend asap.

I love the look of capes but am never sure if I'll actually wear them. It gets freezing and windy here in Nebraska!
I've always wanted to get a cape because I feel like they are a very chic way to stay warm. I really struggle though to find them in my price range, could you suggest some that are under $100? Thanks!
