A few months back, I got this product from Bloomingdale’s, and have been using it nightly ever since. Friends, it really, truly does make a massive difference in my skin’s hydration and overall plumpness. You might recognize this cream from the recent travel skincare routine that I shared (because at this point I’m unwilling to travel without it). And I’m convinced it played a BIG role in preventing the typical skin issues that often come with transitioning from dry, freezing NYC to hot, humid Florida and back again. Normally, these dramatic changes in weather cause my skin to be… let’s call it temperamental. But my skin didn’t miss a beat this time. The only real difference was my use of this cream. Wizardry.
This Lancôme Absolue cream is pricey, for sure. But in my opinion, it’s a classic case of “you get what you pay for.” Even if this product isn’t in your budget for everyday use, it’s worth it. I’d highly recommend buying a jar and using it before “special occasions”—i.e. the nights before big events. Or for anytime your skin is acting out and feeling unloved and needs a luxurious surge of moisture.

Personally, I save this product for use at night. It seals in serums and gives me confidence that I’m going to wake up with hydrated skin (and a J-Lo glow, obviously). But you can also use this in the morning to prep and hydrate pre-makeup. It’s incredibly thick and rich (hence the name) but really absorbs well into skin so won’t feel too heavy if you put cosmetics on top.
In sum, I’m now completely convinced of the power of face creams—one in particular. For something to have a guest starring role in my skincare and work its way up to main character in no-time is really saying something. I’ll never stop loving my serums, but I’ve made room in my heart, and on my shelf, for something a little luxe.
While I’m at it, don’t sleep (figuratively) on the rest of Lancôme’s Absolue line. The entire range is top notch. As evidenced by the many, many 5-star reviews populating the product pages at Bloomingdale’s. A few particular favorites of mine from this line as follows:
1
Absolue Powder Radiant Smoothing Powder
Dusting a setting powder all over your face after applying your foundation is an absolutely mandatory step in setting your makeup and combatting any unfortunate oil build-up and shininess. However, I know that people with particularly dry skin really struggle to find a finishing powder that isn’t too drying. Nobody likes to feel flaky or chalky. Lancôme’s smoothing powder, however, is a game-changer for anyone with dry skin. It’s moisturizing, luminizing, and combats tightening and drying. So you can set makeup that’ll last all day without worrying about anything unfortunate happening to your face.
2
Absolue L’Extrait Ultimate Eye Patches
Eye patches, once reserved for pirates, are now a skincare mainstay. They’re everywhere. But they’re not all alike, and they’re certainly not these. I keep mine in the fridge and apply them before events when I really want to present my most well-rested self. Regardless of whether or not I’ve had, you know…rest. They’re super hydrating and great for plumping up the delicate skin around the eyes to minimize any pesky crow’s feet.
3
Absolue Eye Premium ßx Replenishing & Rejuvenating Eye Cream
Like the brand’s rich cream, this product delivers on its promises. It makes a visible difference in the moisture levels of my eye area. Most of the time we use eye cream and just kind of hope it’s working, but with this product, you’ll know it for sure. A little bit goes a long way, so this tiny jar is going to last you months and months.
