The dress I’m wearing is by Roland Mouret and is an investment, but currently 40% off on Net-A-Porter. The silk blend satin gown is cut to be worn loosely, something I appreciate these days, but it’s not the kind of loose that looks sloppy. A gathered hip and sleeve retain structure while making sure it’s one of the most comfortable formalwear options you can buy. There’s also a very subtle Grecian nod at the neck that makes the dress feel special.
The real reason I love it? The color. Maybe emerald green and I just enjoy each other’s company. Maybe it was repeated childhood viewings of The Wizard Of Oz. Whatever the reason, emerald green and I intend to spend more time together, particularly when the shade lends itself so well to fall weddings.

Whether or not you’re a fan of rich greens, it’s good to remember that jewel tones in all shades are perfect for fall weddings. The peppy lift of pastels is precisely what we needed in spring and early summer, but fall events often call for a deeper shift. And, while you can always get away with black, my solution when attending something joyous like a wedding is to pop a jewel toned look (deep reds, blues, purples, ambers) in there and feel perfectly on-hue.

I am a fall bride and will be celebrating my 21st anniversary in October. I had my maid of honor in a deep red/burgundy, and my bridesmaids in gold and emerald green. I love this color and all the fall colors – and all the fall fashion. 🙂
Absolutely stunning! I love this color on you. The front picture was so beautiful and captivating – the gown and tux – I had to click and comment.
Perfection Mary! Sheer perfection! The cut, the color! What a timeless selection. On your 50th wedding anniversary these pictures will still be beautiful and current. Congratulations on your 4th anniversary.
