The dress I’m wearing is by Roland Mouret and is an investment, but currently 40% off on Net-A-Porter. The silk blend satin gown is cut to be worn loosely, something I appreciate these days. But, it’s not the kind of loose that looks sloppy. A gathered hip and sleeve retain structure while making sure it’s one of the most comfortable formalwear options you can buy. There’s also a very subtle Grecian nod at the neck that makes the dress feel special.
The real reason I love it? The color. Maybe emerald green and I just enjoy each other’s company. Maybe it was repeated childhood viewings of The Wizard Of Oz. Whatever the reason, emerald green and I intend to spend more time together. Particularly when the shade lends itself so well to fall weddings.

Whether or not you’re a fan of rich greens, it’s good to remember that jewel tones in all shades are perfect for fall weddings. The peppy lift of pastels is precisely what we needed in spring and early summer. But Fall events often call for a deeper shift. You can always get away with black. But my solution when attending something joyous like a wedding is to pop a jewel toned look. Pop colors like deep reds, blues, purples, ambers in there and feel perfectly on-hue.
