Hanukkah

Celebrating Hanukkah with friends is one of my favorite wintertime gatherings. Catching up over ridiculous quantities of latkes and wine, this night is always a special one. This year, Hanukkah begins on December 2nd, and ends December 10th, and when determining what to wear to any religious holiday, you’ll want to pay attention to how traditional the crowd is. In my opinion, you can never go wrong with a long-sleeved, high-neck dress in winter time, especially when that dress is velvet and has a hint of sparkle.

The Josephine embellished velvet midi dress by Dodo Bar Or (a spectacular Israeli designer that you’ve seen me wearing quite often over the past year), is a no-fail Hanukkah party dress. Rich black velvet, beautiful neckline and cuffs, and a length that lends itself really well to a hosiery-n-heels moment when the weather is frosty. I am also loving these floral-inspired sequin embellishments because Hanukkah is the Festival of Lights after all, and if you can’t sparkle a little bit now, then when?

The dress is an investment piece, for sure—but it’s one you can get miles out of, this year and in years to come.
