NIGHTGOWNS ARE DRESSES TOO, OKAY?

It’s Day 28 of 30 Dresses in 30 Days, and I’m going to… not do much. Between work, holiday travel, holiday parties, shopping for gifts, (and also maybe taking care of a newborn?), I think we’ve all earned a day off. When it’s cold outside, there’s nothing better than carving out some “do nothing” time to relax and just be lazy. Personally, I suggest you spend this time in head-to-toe silk. But, whether you want to channel your inner Real Housewife in a silk nightgown and robe set or you prefer to Netflix and chill in a big fluffy bathrobe and leggings, today is all about COMFORT.

While I see nothing wrong with a good lounge day spent in sweatpants and an oversized hoodie that I’ve likely stolen from my husband, this is the holiday season. This is a time of specialness. A time of festivity. A time to get a little fancy, even when we’re not getting off the couch. A time to pick out your favorite loungewear below and “accidentally” send it to your significant other with the not-so-subtle hint that you’d like to see it wrapped under the tree on December 25th.

Today, I’ve selected a lounge outfit fit for a queen. Or at least, fit for queen of the remote control. I’m wearing Neiman Marcus’s Long Silk Nightgown in Steel Blue, paired with the matching robe of same fabric and color. If this set doesn’t say “hold my calls” honestly I don’t know what does.

This elegant silk nightgown has a scooped neck and a lace t-back, which is a detail I really like. You can adjust the delicate straps for the perfect fit. The matching long sleeved silk robe has a shawl collar and open front, and comes with a sash to tie it closed when the Seamless delivery person arrives. It’s loungewear elegance and comfort in classic style. If you’ve ever wondered what it would feel like to wear a cloud, this is the set for you. Both pieces also come in white and black options and after spending time in this set, I just might be going back for seconds.

Colette’s been kind enough to join me for this day-o-lounging. She had to clear her schedule, but I was glad she was able to find the time. An as much as this sassy baby would like to dabble in silk herself, we might be a year or two away from exploring finer fabrics. She required a full outfit change approximately three minutes after these photos were taken… for reasons I won’t mention.
