Valentine’s Day is all about romance. Yes, we could play it cool with an LBD or something that isn’t quite so “on the nose,” but you could also just… embrace a good theme and your inner heart eyes emoji. I’m thinking femininity, lace, something in the pink or red family, you get the idea. It’s a celebration of love that was basically invented by Hallmark. Let’s have fun and not overthink it.
Here, I’m wearing Needle & Thread’s Demetria embroidered tulle mini dress. What looks like the most vibrant rosey-red lace is actually embroidered tulle, which feels far more festive and maybe also like I’m a ballerina of some kind. It’s intended for a slightly loose fit and has the sweetest little bow belt at the waist. The sleeve and hem ruffles give it a really stunning shape that make it perfect for the holiday season or a special date night.
[shop_product num=”1″ image=”left”] [shop_product num=”2″ image=”left”]Feel free to tell your significant other that this dress is best accessorized by a dozen (or two?) red roses. As far as footwear goes, I wanted to compliment the dress without competing with it, as this rich, bold color is really taking center stage. I’ve chosen a black pump with gold studs that feel a little like foot jewelry. In the actual jewelry department, these jaw-dropping earrings are by Etro with an oversized heart shape that really plays to theme (I warned you I was going full-throttle on this one). They’re embellished with sparkling crystals and faux pearls and I think I live in them now. Think I can get away with wearing these to grocery shop, too? Let’s find out.
My bag is a black YSL and I’ve yet to meet an outfit it won’t work with, and my shades are by Alaia. A change from my beloved Le Specs, but it’s nice to mix things up.
If you’re loving this dress, you’ll also be into Needle & Thread’s variation of it with short sleeves and a longer hem. It’s a bit more fitted up top and the skirt gives it a little more formality than its shorter sister. Depending on your holiday or Valentine’s Day plans, I am quite certain there’s a red moment to suit you.
Below, a few more of my favorite romantic dress moments for celebrating all things amour this season.
