For brunch today, I’ve styled 1901’s Checkered Pinafore Dress (it’s under $100!) with a black turtleneck underneath and an olive green military-esque jacket on top. A burgundy bag and knee high boots feel spot-on for the season and also maybe like I’m about to embark on some sort of mystery adventure.

Here’s the secret sauce: I love hats for brunch. First of all, they are v cute. Second of all, they hide bed head. Do you feel like waking up on a Sunday morning and going full round-brush-blow-dry? Me neither. Tuck your folicular secrets into an adorable hat that you might not have a reason to wear during the week. Weekends are hats’ time to thrive. Don’t leave them locked in your closet.

An adorable pinafore dress or one of the super cute sweater dresses below is the casual but cute brunchtime winner. Not only do you arrive looking IG Story-ready (everyone does it, it’s fine), but you’re also 100% ready for wherever post-brunch plans take you. Leaf peeping, holiday shopping, bar hopping, whatever—let’s go.

Elegant and sexy! I love when you wear dresses and long leather boots!
